I seriously doubt it, Alyssa. He seems to be stuck on "rude & ignorant".

SF, you are just the typical self righteous liberal who is all words and no action. Who feels threatened by opposition when not caved in to by that opposition. All you have is words. Words are your weapon. When you lose the war, or people use liberal tactics against you, you run crying to the authorities. You have multiple times here, right Peejz.

Alyssa, if you are laughing at yourself as the joke, fine. There is sarcasm and there is cluelessness. You fall into the latter here.

PCD, are you dense? I can't believe I have to explain this to you.

What part of "I was being sarcastic" do you not understand?

Get a clue about the definition of that word, and stop thinking you have any idea of what my morals are when you don't even know what you're talking about.

Thanks for the laugh. I needed that after a long day at work.

Kennedy patriarch and former Ambassador to the Court of Saint James, Joseph, paid Mrs. Kopechne an out-of-court, unspecified settlement for her pain and suffering. Let's see, he was bedridden after suffering a stroke in 61'. He could only communicate by grunting and was not in charge of his estate anymore..yep..that sounds about par for the Kennedy course of things! Pay C.O.D. Cash Off Dad!

More info here on Chappaquiddick

My favorite quote from Teddy:

"Do we operate under a system of equal justice under law?
Or is there one system for the average citizen
and another for the high and mighty?"
- Senator Ted Kennedy, 1973 -

- In his statement to police, Ted Kennedy claimed that after escaping from his submerged automobile, he "repeatedly dove down to the car in an attempt to see if the passenger was still in the car."

- At the inquest, the Senator elaborated on his story. "I was fully aware that I was doing everything that I possibly could to get the girl out of the car. And that my head was throbbing and my neck was aching and I was breathless, and at the time, hopelessly exhausted." When he abandoned his rescue attempt, he let himself float to shore. "And I sort of crawled and staggered up some place and was very exhausted and spent on the grass." He said he rested there on the banking for 15 to 20 minutes.

Beginning with his first statement to police ( view statement ) Kennedy has always maintained that he delayed reporting the accident to authorities because he was "confused and in shock" after the accident. The Senator's statements regarding his rescue attempts suggest that in fact he was quite aware that Miss Kopechne's life was in peril and that immediate action was in order.

1:00 AM
- Kennedy testified that after he regained his breath, "I started walking, trotting, jogging, stumbling as fast as I possibly could. It was extremely dark," he said, and "I never saw a cottage with a light on." Kennedy said he walked back to the Lawrence Cottage in "approximately 15 minutes."

- Kennedy's claims were contradicted by several residents of Dike Road:

- Sylvia Malm was spending the summer in the "Dike House" with her family. The house was only 150 yards from the scene of the accident ( see photo below ). Her daughter had been reading under an open window facing the bridge until about 11:45 PM, but did not recall hearing anything unusual.

- When the family went to bed, Mrs. Malm had left a light burning all night at the back door of the house. The light was visible from Dike Bridge. Sometime after midnight, Mrs. Malm heard a car "going faster than usual" on Dike Road, but nothing else.

- The Reverend and Mrs. David Smith lived in the house across the street. They were certain that they had left a light on in one of the bedrooms that was also visible from the road.

This wouldn't be the first time TK has had a rough plane ride...

"In 1964, Kennedy was in a plane crash in which the pilot and one of Kennedy's aides were killed. He was pulled from the wreckage by fellow senator Birch E. Bayh II (D-Ind.) and spent weeks in a hospital recovering from a severe back injury, a punctured lung, broken ribs, and internal bleeding."

"Im for holding Ted accountable for his actions,,,,you?"

Ummm...he was.

Kennedy entered a plea of guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury. He received a sentence of two months in jail, which was suspended.

An Edgartown grand jury later reopened the investigation but did not return an indictment. Kennedy did offer a personal apology to Mrs. Kopechne for his role in her daughter's death and she accepted that apology.

No, there really isn't much comparison between the two incidents, except of course:

*A fatal car accident

*Both were driving the car at fault

*Both got off with a slap on the wrist (one less than the other...)

--------------------------------------------------------

Alyssa, you are 100% right, there are no liberals I'm aware of that are/were trying to make this into a big political deal...I just don't think most Liberals feel as persecuted and paranoid as some conservatives feel on the Kennedy issue, which is why they always seem to fall for wacky conspiracy theories about that family and other liberals in general.

PCD: "If you have to think about this, and why you have no honor, then you have suspect morals, too."

What do you know about honor and morals??? Judging by how you constantly try to verbally bully posters who DARE to have an opposing opinion from yours.....weak.
