I'm a big fan of Bruce Willis. While other movie stars are running their mouths, I've heard that Bruce put up a million of his own money to add to the bounty on Osama Bin Laden.

Sandra Bullock, and Leonardo DeCaprio both handed over a million for Tsunami relief as well so they're pretty high on my people to watch list. Keanu Reaves gave his entire paycheck to the crew for the last Matrix movie as a sign of appreciation for their work. It just goes to show some people in Hollywood actually appreciate how good they have it.

And I just adore Tom Hanks. There is something so versatile in him. I loved his acting in Forrest Gump and Road to Perdition but I loved HIM in You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle!

Drake....I sympathize with you. I do continue to boycott some in Hollywood; i.e. Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, and a few others. Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are both Dems but to my knowledge they don't trash Bush and America like others have. They are two very talented actors/producers though and this was one helluva movie. Definitely worth the money if, like me, you enjoy conspiracy stories.

All of the promo photos of him look horrible. Like I said in at least the second book, Langdon is VERY athletic. He gets into fist fights, knife fights, gun fights, foot chases etc etc. Regular action hero stuff. Hanks just doesn't look the part. If they wanted an actor in his 40s to play the role, I'd have opted for Bruce Willis. He plays the action hero role with the best of them without looking like a pretty boy (ala Ben Affleck) doing it.

8- FAO- go see it and tell me what you think of Hanks weight issue:wink: He isn't heavy in the film, but I can see what you are saying if I have to compare him to Indiana Jones.

I haven't seen the movie or read the book, but I have read the second book in the series , "Angels and Demons", from Dan Brown. He tells a great story, though I think that the Robert Langdon character would be more in the Indiana Jones mold than an overweight Tom Hanks. In the second book the main character got into a series of physical fights that would be impossible for someone overweight and out of shape.

I may go see the movie today, though I know if they make "Angels and Demons" into a film, they won't be able to stay even close to the book without getting a more athletic actor to play Robert Langdon.
