  1. Greetigs everyone. Happy Memorial day weekend. I am home visiting the family before leaving,,,again, overseas. Sorry I don’t drop in for “quality” time here the last year, but business has got me really busy. So, I am going to grab some grilled burgers, swim in the pool and drink some beer. Yall do the same and have fun.

  3. Happy Memorial Day weekend! Man this 4 days off thing is great. I posted a trackback, and I just figured I’d post a comment as well. Please go visit the newly formed “Why We Fight – The Soldiers’ Stories” series when you get a chance! We’d love to hear your stories of military service!

  4. will the government be putting all of the troops in prison soon for killing muslim terrorists? or just the ones picked to be shot in prison BY THE BIN LADEN GANGS? like the USMC? for killing the enemies of the former USA.

See: North American union, But FIRST comes Aztlan coming to you soon by your dismantled government of murderous hate America guys and loves the Ideals of the Globalist Agenda/THIRD WORLD, note did not use EVIL.

  5. Hey John! Enjoy your time with the family! Be safe and Thank-you!

  6. Happy Memorial Weekend to everyone. A special, special thanks to all our soldiers past and present in every branch of our military including our law enforcement officers. God Bless each and every one of you. You are the glue that holds us together. Be safe.

I myself am enjoying the grandkids and other family members and will not be online much in the next few days. The weather is great and the bbq is ready!

    Be well.

  7. Yes, everyone, enjoy the holiday Monday. And I just hope the general public remembers those who made it possible for them to enjoy the holiday, to live in a Country where they can enjoy the benefits of Liberty.

I am reminded of this statement that to me expresses what we should all remember:

“It’s the Soldier, not the reporter
who has given us the freedom of the press.

It’s the Soldier, not the poet,
who has given us the freedom of speech.

It’s the Soldier, not the politicians
that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

It’s the Soldier who salutes the flag,
    who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag.”

All the pontificating and grandstanding by the journalists, the politicians, the pundits, etc. added together don’t equal the contribution of one member of the Armed Forces who has died in the service of the United States.

  8. Robert….this is a lovely poem and one I have heard before. Thank you for sharing it once again with us. We sometimes need to be reminded that freedom isn’t always free and it’s the soldiers who most often pay the price for us.

  9. I plan to take some flowers to the graves of my parents, grandparents and nephew:cool::smile:

  10. Robert, Thank-you so much for sharing that!

Snowy- I will be at the cemetary as well!

  11. I just got home from the hospital, where I was admitted on Thursday night. I will spend tomorrow in bed, preferably making it to the bathroom before throwing up.

But, that is also what garbage cans are for.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  12. Alyssa, I hope everything is alright and I hope you are on the mend!

  13. I notice that Liberals have a hard time thanking veterans without being prompted. Says alot about their selfish charater and philosophy.
