It’s George Bush’s Fault She Got Pregnant!

By: Pam On: Jun/4/06 -

This is by far the dumbest op-ed piece I have ever read. What Happens When There Is No Plan B?, written by Dana L.

I am a 42-year-old happily married mother of two elementary-schoolers. My husband and I both work, and like many couples, we’re starved for time together. One Thursday evening this past March, we managed to snag some rare couple time and, in a sudden rush of passion, I failed to insert my diaphragm.

The receptionist, however, informed me that my doctor did not prescribe Plan B. No reason given. Neither did my internist. The midwifery practice I had used could prescribe it, but not over the phone, and there were no more open appointments for the day.

It was a decision I am sorry I had to make. It was awful, painful, sickening. But I feel that this administration gave me practically no choice but to have an unwanted abortion because the way it has politicized religion made it well-nigh impossible for me to get emergency contraception that would have prevented the pregnancy in the first place.

And my favorite part:

Dana L. is a lawyer and writer living in Virginia. Out of concern for her family’s privacy, she requested that her last name not be published.

Her privacy….I would be more concerned with her stupidity! She is an attorney but doesn’t know the laws of the state that she practices in? She doesn’t realize that this is state law vs federal law?

Last I checked the morning after pill isn’t illegal. It also doesn’t have to be taken within 24 hours so she could’ve gone to the clinic the next day after her doctor refused to prescribe it. All in all another case of liberal lawyers refusing to take responsibility for their own actions.

I started reading and about halfway through this realized that the actual facts don’t really matter. Indeed, in this era of the Fundamentalists threatening and women’s right to choose in more danger than ever before, the real point is:

It IS all George Bush’s fault!!!

 Isn’t that the truth..who, in their right mind, would write such nonsense and then have it published!

Well, you know liberals have to blame it on someone and since their hatred of Bush is so very intense it might just as well be him. Heaven forbid they take any responsibility for their actions.

    Geesh, what a story.
