You missed one topic near and dear to my heart that also has a racist background. Gun Control. It has NEVER proven effective at reducing crime. In fact quite the opposite. There are a number of anti gun laws on the books that are directly related to racism and all of them have been proposed and supported by the Democrats. The open carry law in California was in direct response to the Black Panthers showing up at the state legislature building the day it was being voted on openly displaying a number of firearms. The "Saturday Night Special" laws from the 1960s were implemented to keep blacks from obtaining firearms during the race riots because they only effected inexpensive weapons. A significant portion of the price of any firearm purchased in the US goes to taxes and currently legal fees over the junk lawsuits being filed against lawful businesses over the criminal misuse of their products. The first gun restrictions in this country were passed following reconstruction to keep the former slaves from owning guns and being able to protect themselves from the marauding bands of the KKK.
