Peace Activist Leaves Man In Coma

Granted, this is a tragic story and I hope the victim survives, but I must admit I laughed my a$$ off! Peace!
A New Zealand peace activist is facing serious assault charges after he allegedly punched a rock singer in London, leaving the man in a coma.
Christiaan Briggs, 30, who spent three weeks in Iraq with the Truth Justice Peace Human Shield Action Group in 2003, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to face a charge of grievous bodily harm.
Briggs was a London-based list candidate for the Green Party in the 2002 election.

A “Peace” Activist? So much for peace and non-violence, eh?

Other than the Amish and the Quakers, I haven’t seen a peace activist who was actually a dyed in the wool pacifist. They are always willing to resort to violence to try and prove how morally superior they are over those who disagree with them. In college, we had a bunch of the Peaceniks running around campus. One of my ROTC classmates did a survey of the ROTC students to see if we were being harassed by them. My response got a lot of smiles from the ROTC staff. I said that since they wouldn’t say anything to my face unless there were 10 or more of them, or even behind my back unless there were at least 5 of them, I ignored them. I simply saw no reason to give any credence to anything said by anyone that cowardly. I still feel that way. I have a lot of respect for the Quakers and Amish for having the courage of their convictions. I have no respect for the “I want peace now and I don’t care how many people I have to hurt to get it crowd”

This freak is just another one of the crowd that wants attention, and the “Peace movement” is just his vehicle for getting it.
I hope he gets plenty of attention in the slammer.

Gotta admit, this IS kind of “funny”. Of course, not for the poor guy in the coma…
Obviously, you can’t take this one guys actions and label the whole peace-movement as fraudulent. That would be stupid.
I am curious as to WHY he hit the other guy. We only have one side of the story here. Most “peaceful” people don’t just lash out like that unless provoked, I should think.
