Imagine a World Without Israel Via Daily Kos

By: Pam On: Jul/13/06 - 18 Comments

H/T to Charles Johnson for the link to this kos diary: Imagine a world without Israel.

Or is that not allowed?

Muslims, Jews, and Christians could live in peace without fear of mutual destruction.

There would be no more need for US AID or justification for Dimona.

We could bring down the Wall, send prisoners home, and families could be reunited.

We could dismantle checkpoints, open crossings, and pull down barbed wire fences.

There would be no more settlements or armed settlers because the people would be united.

We could replant trees and olive groves and rebuild battered cities.

No more suicide bombers or sniper fire, and no more dead civilians.

No more targeted killings and hell-fire missiles, or systematic demolitions.

Palestinians and Jews could live together and the world could address other issues.

What a simpler place this world would be

if there was no need for a Jewish majority – where there would otherwise be none.

Is it so hard to imagine?

Now, that is awful, and we can all agree on that, right? well look at this comment. The author manages to blame Karl Rove for the diary entry!

DailyKos is going down the rathole. (2+ / 0-)

If these nauseating, trollish threads are allowed to continue in full force, then I am convinced that this blog is going to self-destruct.

Are we so willing to be distracted by these inflammatory issues that we are unable to focus ourselves on kicking the Bushies out of power?

Are these posters who infest this board on the payroll of Karl Rove? It sure seems so because they are sapping our attention when our attention needs to be directed elsewhere.

Come on…you guys don’t ever “imagine” a world without Iran?…North Korea?…when you talk or write?

Regardless if it’s real or not, I wouldn’t jump on this one so quickly if I were you.

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

2- No San Fran I don’t. When I envision those places, I dream of a country free from the radical muslims and Kim Jong ill. I take it that you are okay with kos post.

“I take it that you are okay with kos post.”

It’s certainly not a very PC thing to say, that’s for sure.

I don’t really agree or disagree with it. It is what it is. An “imagine this” piece.

But as for Israel’s existence, SF Liberal is for it. These people have been displaced and despised for thousands of years, and considering what many of them went through in the early 20th century, I think the UN did them a great service by creating the state of Israel.

I also think the Palestinians made an EPIC MISTAKE by rejecting the two-state compromise back in `48.

That said, Israel acts aggressively and is often too heavy handed when dealing with the Palestinian problem.

Illegal settlements, the way the Palestinians are treated as second class citizens, the slum like refugee camps…Israel should know better.

Both sides need to make many hard sacrifices and change fundamental ways about how they view each other before any real progress is ever going to happen over there.

:???: I’m guessing that was sarcasm. If not, maybe they think there are more Jeff Gannons out there.

    1. It strikes me that the basic tenet of the original post goes to the idealistic hope that Arab and Jew (and other anti-Israel groups) could get along and co-exist so there would be no need for a “Jewish Homeland.” But, it sounds better for your base, peejz, if you spin this into a hate piece against Israel.

    2. I take the anti-Rove comment you quote to mean that conservative commenters on Kos push pure Rovian-Right Wing theory, and not an effort to blame Rove for the diary piece. Again, spin it our of proportion and context all you want. Clear-thinking people see through your bias and misplaced passion.

SF just dreams of a one world state, under the control of Kofi Annan and Billy Blowjob, where americans can be as crappy and poor as Bangladeshis….. nice.

Spoken like a true lady, peejz. Go back to your hatred of anything or anyone that differs from your slanted view.

Where did you get that I hate your view? Your view is wrong.
It isn’t that difficult to follow the thought of the author. Get the Israeli State out of the region. Then there will be peace. Even the author of the Rove comment got that!

The wankers at Daily Pos have a slanted view. But I guess that’s okay…

    #1. You’re not a wanker

    and

    #2. You don’t have a slanted view.

    Yeeeah, right!!
