Malkin: IN THE COMPANY OF THE ENEMY

By: Pam On: Jul/16/06 -

As Seen at Michelle Malkin’s.

Which side are they on? The New York Times settles the question definitively with a hysterical, unreality-based lead editorial today recycling the BDS attacks on the War on Terror–but even more so with this disgusting pictorial tribute to Iraqi terrorists killing American soldiers, spotted by the vigilant Charles Johnson at LGF. The picture featured by the Times is just one of many being hawked here as a photo compilation titled “In the Company of God by award-winning New York Times photographer, Joao Silva.” A sample:

Jeff Goldstein comments on the NYTimes’ self-congratulatory smugness:

Writes Times assistant managing editor for photography Michele McNally of a photo taken by NYT photographer Joao Silva showing an al-Sadr army sniper in the act of firing on US troops, “Right there with the Mahdi army. Incredible courage.”

Incredible courage? Well, far be it for me to question such self-congratulatory enthusiasm, but it seems to me that actual “incredible courage” would have entailed, say, Joao Silva getting word to US troops, or bumrushing the sniper and beating him unconscious with a heavy telephoto lens.

Whereas what we’ve witnessed here is the product of (admittedly) dangerous opportunism in the service of plaudits and cocktail party invites.

But then, I’m still into the whole bourgeois nationalism thing.

John Hinderaker at Power Line: “It would have required courage to hang out with the Mahdi Army, if there were any likelihood that a member of the Iraqi “insurgency” would regard a representative of the New York Times as an enemy.”

Lucianne.com commenters: The NYTimes has jumped the shark.

No, they’ve just come out of the closet

Snoozepaper of record: Bush not concerned with fighting terror, but expanding pres. powers

No finer example of Bush Derangment Syndrome can be found today in the media than this piece from the editorial page of the NY Times.  Guess what? They’ve finally come out and admitted what their liberal cohorts have been saying or impl…

I think it has been inarguably clear for some time that the New York Slimes has crossed way over the line to the enemy’s side.

I don’t know why the President has not asked Congress for a declaration of War against terrorism. Terrorism is not a definable nation, but why should that stop what needs to be done in an era of a new kind of warfare? Do it anyway.

With a declared war, traitors like the NY Slimes could be dealt with forthwith.

And to head off the inevitable Leftist rebuttal, we’re not talking about criticism of the President or disagreement with policy, which is normal and healthy in a Democracy. I am talking about things like obtaining classified information and intentionally publishing it, materially assisting the enemy. Engaging in propaganda campaigns using falsified or distorted information in order to undermine public morale and will, thereby aiding the enemy.

Robert, you and I are both smart enough to know that will never happen. More’s the pity. The NYT has consistently undermined this administration and this entire country with their actions. Not to wish anyone ill, but perhaps the country may have been better off in many ways if the Anthrax that was mailed to the National Enquirer (A rag, but an admitted one.) had been mailed to the NYT. Perhaps then the reality of terrorism might have hit home to the NYT liberal elite editorial staff, and if not, they would’ve at least had to find a new operating location as the building the Enquirer had been headquartered in had to be demolished because the contamination from 2 standard business envelopes filled with with Anthrax was too widespread to be able to effectively decontaminate the multi-story building. The multi-million dollar building was sold on auction for $40,000 and then had to be demolished. Perhaps such an attack on the NYT would’ve opened their eyes to the truth of the situation.

I have just composed the lyrics for a new theme song for the Left. This can be for Liberals, Leftists, Socialists, Greenies, Environazis, and even the New York Times traitors too! Here it is:

Wacko wacko wacko wacko woo woo woo,
    I said
Wacko wacko wacko wacko woo woo.
Wacko wacko wacko wacko woo woo woo,
    We’re
Wacko wacko wacko wacko woo woo.

Whose side is the NY Times taking anyway?

Little Green Footballs (via Ace of Spades HQ) finds a photographer for the NY Times, Joao Silva, in a very suspicious position - he took pics while a terrorist fired on US troops in Iraq

Wow! Thanks for posting that piece! It was RIGHT ON.

And the pics were very interesting too.

You guys make me laugh. An investigative journalist is doing his job, taking images of an enemy we rarely see. To study these people up close like that, takes tremendous amounts of courage.

I wish I could show you people or describe to you just how fucking stupid, rabid and unhinged many of you look when you attack the NYTs and other reporters for exercising their constitutional right to a free press.

Keep it up; and you guys might scare even MORE voters away from your political positions than you already have!

It sounds like the longer this whole thing goes on; the more unhinged some you guys become.

Voters don’t seem too scared..after all

they put George W. Bush in the white house…TWICE.

They have re-elected Republican majorities in the house AND senate.

They have paved the way for a conservative court.

They have put republicans in the Majority of Governor’s mansions and state houses throughout america.

gee, for being “unhinged” we somehow still represent the majority, and you represent the kooky fringe

    chew on that a while.

“I wish I could show you people or describe to you just how fucking stupid, rabid and unhinged many of you look when you attack the NYTs and other reporters for exercising their constitutional right to a free press.”

They have the Constitutional right to publish classified information that materially harms and undermines the ability of our law enforcement agencies to do their job, a job the American people want them to do?

They have the Constitutional right to, during wartime, provide consistent aid and comfort to the enemy by intentionally misrepresenting the news, even lying and fabricating stories, to undermine military morale and the resolve of the American people to win, thereby proviiding aid and comfort to the enemy?

You must have your own version of a Konstitution. Do you know hoe fucking stupid, rabid, and unhinged you look when you support behavior like the NYT and the other boll weevils.

That’s why your Democrap party is spiraling into the toilet, along with Air Jizzerra Radio and the New York Slimes.

Let one major terrorist attack occur on American soil and then it comes out that it wasn’t prevented because of ther NY Slimes and others and you will see the end of Leftism in America.

“they put George W. Bush in the white house:TWICE.”

Mike, Mike, Mike…this isn’t 2004 anymore, as much as you wish it was. Bush has gone DOWNHILL each day since that election, and his job approval ratings are stuck in the 30’s. VERY poor performance since re-election…

    —————————————————–

“They have re-elected Republican majorities in the house AND senate.”

And have regretted it since. Have you seen the numbers on Congress??!? They are polling worse than the president is, in terms of job approval. Another way to tell you that you are looking at the past and not the future is that the Dems are now leading Repubs in just about every area of domestic and foreign policy…even without a firm plan.

What we’re seeing happen here is major Republican fatigue. Your side has had control for over 6 years now, and it’s been nothing but shit/crap/and ass with your team at the helm. And the voters are looking for change.

I’m not going to predict anything for the upcoming November election, but I’m saying, and you have to admit, it’s looking REAL BAD for your team right now.

The public is SICK TO DEATH of republican failure.

    ———————————————-

“gee, for being “unhinged”we somehow still represent the majority, and you represent the kooky fringe”

Again, you are living in the past here. Look at the polls. Majorities of Americans side with DEMOCRATS on most major issues now.

Again, it’s Republican fatigue. Voters have seen what your party does with its 6+ years of power, and they DON’T LIKE IT.

This is a FANTASTIC time to be a liberal democrat. The bush/rove machine is FINALLY starting to crack under its own weight.

“oh the times, they are a changin’!”

“Let one major terrorist attack occur on American soil and then it comes out that it wasn’t prevented because of ther NY Slimes and others and you will see the end of Leftism in America.”

Oh Please. More like: if there is one major terrorist attack on American soil, don’t say good bye to Leftism…say goodbye to Democracy!

One more attack would give Bush all the “justification” he needs to dismantle civil liberties, clamp down on dissent, install security checkpoints, imprison Americans without charges…the list goes on and on.

If I were a praying man, I’d pray everyday that Bush is not president during our next terror attack. God help us all if he’s still in charge when the next one hits.

The New York Times has the right to print anything they want. However they also have a responsibility to NOT publish things that could be harmful to this country. The problems in this country, as I see it, is that while people are being taught that they have rights, but are not being taught that those rights come with responsibilities. That’s the whole crux of the problem.

Which is more important: Catching terrorists to prevent future attacks, or making meaningless sensationalist attacks against the Bush administration that essentially aids the terrorists in avoiding detection? Unfortunately, the NYT has repeatedly decided that attacking the Bush administration is more important than protecting the lives of American citizens.
