Dems: Bush Admin May Have Violated 26 Statutes

That’s seems damning to the Administration, no? Well if you are a left leaning blog, you change the may have to did, and you’ve got yourself a story! Too bad it won’t hold water! The source for this? None other than John Conyers (D-MI).

The laws implicated by the Administration’s actions include federal laws against making false statements to congress [sic]; federal laws and international treaties prohibiting torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment; federal laws concerning retaliating against witnesses and other government employees; Executive Orders concerning leaking and other misuse of intelligence; federal regulations and ethical requirements governing conflicts of interest; the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act; communications privacy laws; the National Security Act; and the Fourth Amendment.
The document, an update to the Democrats’ December 2005 report, “A Constitution in Crisis,” will be released later this week, according to knowledgeable sources. It is several hundred pages long, with over a thousand footnotes.

I would advise Conyers to clean up his own house!

    Let me guess at a few:

    1. “federal laws against making false statements to congress”

    Saddam was a threat and had WMD!

    Bush said this, and so did just about every other politician. Guess we’ll have to take them all to task.

    What—a guard at Gitmo may have kicked a Koran? :shock:
    I guess those religiusly and ethnically-sensitive meals the detainees at Gitmo got, plus the free health care (better than any they have ever seen) is just tortuous!!!

    3. “…leaking and other misuse of intelligence”. They’ll have to hang the Klinoinistas and the New York Times for that.

    Need I go on? The Demoscat Party is nothing, has nothing, and will continue spiraling into the toilet.
