WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE THIS TIME KOFI?

By: Pam On: Aug/7/06 -

A Hizballah rocket attack wounded three United Nations peacekeepers at the UNIFIL base in southern Lebanon yesterday, but as Michelle points out:

No condemnation from the U.N. yet. No indignant Euroweenies bemoaning deliberate targeting of civilians by Hizballah. But of course not. Don’t you know Kofi Annan considers terrorist mortar rounds and rocket strikes on its peacekepping bases friendly fire?

This is the same rotten UN that condems the USA for exicuting convicted child killers or murderers then say nothing when its own peace keepers are attacked and why do we continue to support this wretched nest of vipers?

Well that’s because the rocket came from the religion of peace!

Well I’d say Shame on Kofi Anan and the UN if there is no condemnation toward Hezbollah.

Also I read the link (though i was surprised that it was Reuters since I thought it was blacklisted on this site) and it says: Three Chinese soldiers in the United Nations peacekeeping force were lightly wounded (emphasis mine) on Sunday when a mortar round fired by Hizbollah hit their base in southern Lebanon, a spokesman for the UNIFIL force said.

So I’d have to say it’s not quite the same as when Israel hit the UN compound, since with that strike it killed all the officers inside despite having received 10 phone calls suggesting that Israel’s artillery was cutting it too close.

    Just as summary:

-Europeans (as I am one) are called “Euroweenies” because they dare to have their own opinion and attitude towards the protection of (also foreign!) civilian refugees in the Lebanon

-Islam is claimed to be a war-loving religion and with such a statement millions of people all over the world (as for example my wife) are being set on the same level as the Hizbollah terrorists

    My Proposal:
Lets call this site “insulting&dumbvoices.com” and also spend a section in arabian, because I bet there is at least one website on the net where the friends of the right wing islamists post their stupid ideas, too!

3- Eddy, Kofis outrage was at the fact that UN Peacekeepers were involved in an attack, not that his building was hit…in both cases, Hezbollah is the guilty party, so again, where is Kofi’s outrage!?

Matthias- Oh how you have grown up from back in the day! I can’t tell you how much I truely enjoyed reading this!

From my perspective- Within the past 6 years, Europeans have not given us any other impression but appeasers and backstabbers (oil for food).

I have no reason to think your wife is a terrorist, but let’s look at the riots in France. Let’s look at the reaction to the Danish cartoons. Will your wife sit down and eat a meal with a Jew? Will she live next door to one? Is she openly condemning the terrorists that are causing her religion to be dragged through the mud, or does she sit passively?

    Peejz,

    a) At least no European has started a war based upon “unclear” assumptions (apart from those who believed in your president’s “misinformation”, to call it politely). Besides: When you talk about “Europeans”- how many Europeans do you know personally to allow yourself a judgement on them?

    b) My wife will in any case prefer to have a meal with a jew, rather than with a christian, because she knows that a jew will/does not eat any porc and has for this reason much more understanding for this religious rule than anybody else!
And when it comes to terrorism/islamist radicals she has a very clear opinion (Would she otherwise have married a christian?!). Her family is from Turkey, which is secularized for more than 80 years. And my brother-in-law just mentioned recently that he understands the defense measures of Israel against the repeated Hisbollah missile attacks.

That’s the problem with you radical folks: You only know black or white. You don’t consider anything in between… If somebody is not with you- he’s against you! And as people like you rule in the middle east on both sides there will never be peace!

7- You mean the info he got from European countries as well as domestic sources? What, no reaction to the oil for food? I am referring to the Europeans that run the countries, but now that you meantion it, you shaped my opinion of a typical European…

Now that we have cleared up that your wife isn’t a terrorist, lets get back to what I referred to: Muslim riots in France, Muslim riots in reaction to the Danish cartoons..

I wasn’t aware that people like me were ruling in the Middle East. There will not be peace until the religious leaders are killed…

    Peejz,

    “Muslim riots in France”
-> Those riots (if you mean those from last autumn) had no religious background, but a social one and can rather be compared to those that happened in LA after the Rodney King incident in 1992. Besides, if you read a little bit more on how the french occupiers behaved in the fifties in northern africa (where most of the immigrants come from who started the riots) you may understand the anger of those people in the french suburbs…

“Muslim riots in reaction to the Danish cartoons..”
-> Would you say that the way that the behaviour of anglican and catholic radicals in Nothern Ireland who keep the children of the other denomination from passing through their district represent the average christian? Or the folks who shoot doctors who do abortions? Or folks in Utah who commit multiple adultery and call it “polygamy”?
When does protest become a riot? How do you feel about people in the middle east burning your flag?

“I wasn’t aware that people like me were ruling in the Middle East.”
->People like you think that there is only one absolute truth, right and wrong. And who is wrong has to be subdued or annihilated!

“There will not be peace until the religious leaders are killed:”
    ->What a simple solution…
And I guess you think that once that is done, all those (non-Hizboolah) people in Lebanon will forget about all those bombs that have vaporized their homes, friends and relatives…
This reminds me of a line from Monty Python#s Flying Circus where a guy says:”I’d start a war for peace…”. Afterwards there were some recorded laughs in the background…

9- Your examples lack one thing matthias: We condemn by speaking out against the abortion clinic bombers, fighting in Northern Ireland, or polygamists.

A protest becomes a riot(such as the muslims rioting in France) when the protestor starts burning down property. Or When flags start getting burned and a call for a death to people….

Why no outrage when Hezbollah kills innocent civilians?

oh, they are jews, that’s right, I forgot.

SF, who deserves to live in peace more, dogs or jews? Judging by how you lefties, Al qaeda, the UN etc. behave, you’d think dogs have more right to exist than Jews.

Why a jew EVER votes for a democrat, is WAY beyond my comprehension..it’s like voting for Hitler!

11- What is it that you are not getting? Is it the part in which I showed you the difference between a protest and a riot or the fact that I spoke the truth when I said that in order to rid the world of the Hezbollah’s we will need to rid the middle east of the religious leaders calling for the terrorism?

“Why no outrage when Hezbollah kills innocent civilians?”

You haven’t been listening to me all this time if you think that I’m not outraged by ANY innocent civilian deaths; Christian, Muslim or Jew.

And I’m sure most of “the Left” would agree with me there.

A Jew has just as much “right to exist” as any Muslim does.

I’ll notice that you ALWAYS qualify it…..just like one of those “Imans” who renounces terror out of one side of his mouth and preaches venom out the other

or the liberal politician who whines about seperation of church and state out of one side of his mouth and rounds up his slaves into the black churches out the other

    pathetic

I already asked it in context of your insults towards Europeans but now I’ll have to ask you again, Peejz and Mike:
How many muslims do you know personally, to conclude by the looney behaviour of some fanatics the nature of a whole worldwide community?

And those Hizbollah looneys- don’t you think they have some more reason to act like they act than just to obey to some old religious idiots?!

  18. Peejz
    August 8, 2006 - 04:14 PM on August 8th, 2006

17- The Muslims I know are not looney, but then again, the are Americanized and have not practiced their religion..

And no I do not think there is some other reason to act the way they do other than the indoctrination that they go through in their schools and religios services. This hate is taught to them.

  19. Matthias Roggenbuck
    August 8, 2006 - 04:30 PM on August 8th, 2006

Peejz, how do you think that Islam is “practised”?
Weapons training with Katjushas? Throwing darts at Bush & Olmert Pictures? Praying five “Osama is great”s in the direction of the afghan mountains?

And, do you really think, somebody needs someone else to tell him/her whom to hate, if he or she is thrown bombs upon or being Katjusha missiles shot at?!

On this occasion I will defend San Fran in that he has consistently argued against the deaths of any civilians. he has been consistent in this. Unfortunately, in times of war, civilians do end up getting killed. There’s simply no way to prevent it. Fighting against an enemy who hides among them and uses them as human shields increases the number of civilian deaths.

Now on to the issue of Muslims. I used to work with a practicing Indian Muslim. He laid out his prayer rug a couple of times a day and said his prayers. On at least one occasion a pair of our fellow coworkers began to harass him about it. With the difference in our sizes, they stopped when I walked up and told them to knock it off. There was an Indian Muslim on the radio today. He said that he sincerely believes that the effort to modernize the middle east will result in Islam following the path it has taken in India where tolerance and acceptance are the norm.

As for the war in Iraq being started for no reason, it was started with the best intelligence available at the time. Intelligence is NEVER totally 100% accurate. With the state of Human intelligence assets in the middle east following the Church Commission and the Carter administration, we simply have to rely on intel gathered from other sources. Sources that are infinitely less reliable or accurate. We have found enough Chemical weapons, and nuclear materials in Iraq to have decimated a healthy portion of any major western city. Keep in mind that dirty radiological bombs require nothing more than radioactive material and an explosive device to spread it. There was more than enough enriched uranium found and then removed from Iraq to produce a Chernobyl type incident if combined with a truck bomb of the sort used to level the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983. Is there anyone here who would want to live through that kind of disaster?
