  1. Well this just points out the need for the Left in Britain to get busy and work much harder to undermine the ability of their law enforcement and intelligence agencies to do their job! Doesn’t the UK have newspapers that can leak classified information, like our New York Times? Don’t they have Leftist organizations like the ACLU, dedicated to destroying everything traditional, that can sue and harass and do everything they can to stop the authorities from finding these Islamic visitiors and harassing them? Get with it, man!

  2. Robert…please. It was cute when half the people here didn’t know it was you, but now that we all know it’s you…it’s more than kind of lame.

  3. Well, I’m sure the ACLU will be right in there defending these guys. After all, they were surveiled and we know we can’t do that. tsk. tsk. Just another minor annoyance in the whole scheme of things. Right San Fran? Why don’t you tell those folks they have nothing to worry about.

  4. yeah, is this the NY Times’ first defeat in the war on terror?

  5. I think these recent events really back up the claim that terrorism is much better confronted with Law Enforcement action and Intel Agency investigations instead of brute military strength.

The military didn’t stop these terrorists…law enforcement did.

  6. But first we must further degrade the ability of these agencies to do their job! We need MORE NY Times leaking, more action by the ACLU to take away the tools used by LE!

  7. The UK Left needs to step up the level that the Left in the U.S. has already achieved!

  8. Robert…why do you insist on posting as Leftist?

Do you get off somehow when you pretend you’re someone else?

    LAME.

  9. How can law enforcement help when liberals do everything they can to tie the hands of said law enforcers when going after these animals?

    we can’t…profile young arab males
we can’t…listen to their phone conversations
we can’t… use creative methods of extracting information from captures terrorost (not my ball bag, the horror!)

  10. Profiling is ineffective and dangerous in that if you’re constantly looking one way, the smart ones will slip by where you aren’t looking. It’s just not good strategery.

Listening to phone conversations ISN’T THE PROBLEM, it’s doing it without legal or congressional oversight that’s the problem. You want to wire tap, that’s fine, just get a godamned warrant. (!)

You can even get them after the fact if you want…but just do it right and do it legally.

Humiliation and torture are not “creative methods of extracting info”.

Torture has long been proven to be ineffective as a means of gathering effective and reliable Intel.

  11. profiling is ineffective….. unless of course if you are under attack by 99% young arab males, then of course, it may be good to concentrate your efforts toward young arab males…I’m just guessing here, I could be wrong.

Get a goddman warrant, alert the NY Times, and make sure that each and every possible terrorist knows you are listening..yes, an effective law enforcement tactic if I’ve ever heard one.

you still think pointing to ball bags is torture…my god.

  12. “you still think pointing to ball bags is torture:my god.”

Let’s lock up your son, your brother or your father, sexually humiliate them for months on end…and see how you like it.

Which one would you volunteer to go first, Mike? Your dad?

  13. “99% young arab males”

Ummm, you do realize that these london bombers weren’t arab, right?

    Deerrrr!

  14. 12- why would we do that? They didn’t take up arms against America did they?

  15. if they were fighting to kill all non-believers, subjigate women to slavery, I would say, fuck pointing at their ball bags, hack them off.

  16. #10: Please state your qualifications and experience to make such a pronouncement. What training and experience have you had on the techniques of interrogation and investigation?

  17. come on Robert, SF has NO qualifications.. he has never served his country, his fellow citizens, in any capacity other than couch commentator and monday morning quarterback.

but he’ll be the first one to disparage OUR service.

  18. “why would we do that? They didn’t take up arms against America did they?”

I didn’t say they did, I’m saying try to imagine the situation with a loved one or yours. How would you feel about that?

    ———————–

“if they were fighting to kill all non-believers, subjigate women to slavery, I would say, fuck pointing at their ball bags, hack them off.”

Many of those who were involved weren’t terrorists, but were petty criminals or at worst, totally innocent. Remember, most of those weren’t charged with a crime and hundreds were released with no charges filed after having spent months or even a year in prison.

Just because they were there, doesn’t mean there were supposed to be there.

    ———————–

“Please state your qualifications and experience to make such a pronouncement.”

I’ll take the word of expert military officials:

***Army Col. Stuart Herrington, a military intelligence specialist who conducted interrogations in Vietnam, Panama and Iraq during Desert Storm, and who was sent by the Pentagon in 2003 — long before Abu Ghraib — to assess interrogations in Iraq. Aside from its immorality and its illegality, says Herrington, torture is simply “not a good way to get information.” In his experience, nine out of 10 people can be persuaded to talk with no “stress methods” at all, let alone cruel and unusual ones. Asked whether that would be true of religiously motivated fanatics, he says that the “batting average” might be lower: “perhaps six out of ten.” And if you beat up the remaining four? “They’ll just tell you anything to get you to stop.”***

  19. An Honest Question:
San Fran and other libs, why do you care so much for those who would harm us? Why not show the same love for your country and the American way of life. Throughout history there have been people who oppose the actions of their leaders or governments. These where usually people living in desperate poverty or derranged torturous regimes that have stood up and rebelled. In America however we have it so good that the people have resorted to fighting against imagined “hardships” or “regimes” We have the ACLU and leftists bitching and complaining about how sad and awful America is. Is this because they wish to be seen in the same light as the people before them who had legitimate complaints? Is it the status symbol aspect of being aginst the machine? For me that act was played out when I grew up and got a job. I mean really, what is everyone so pissed off about? Lack of food in America? Lack of housing? Lack of opportunity? Lack of education? Lack of infrastructure? Lack of freedom and choice? The “totalitarian” government? Please! I really don’t get what the complaint is. We have it so good here that the chronic bitchers and whiners are complaining about “atrocities” that most people in the world would give there left arm for. I am 32, a full time senior in college, father of 2, husband, and work full time. I did not grow up rich or even close too it. Instead of seeing only the bad in America I took advantage of what is good.I can go home to my air conditioned hoise and eat the food I bought that has been wrapped in plastic, not even finish it all, crack open a beer and watch 70 channels of crap while playing on the internet. I refuse to feel guilty or ashamed of having it so good. I feel truly blessed that I live in a country as great as America. Of course it isn’t perfect, nothing is, but how exactly does the constant nay-saying and negativity spewed by the left and the media hope to help. How exactly are you trying to make it a better place to live? We are the greatest civilization in the history of the world. With all our wealth and power comes great amounts of jealousy and fear. However, I would rather do my best to see freedom and enlightenment spread through the world than see America brought down a notch so the “world” doesn’t resent us anymore. I am not trying to preach, I really am trying to understand why people think our great country is so bad. I would also like to hear how those who think it’s bad would make it better.

  20. “why do you care so much for those who would harm us? Why not show the same love for your country and the American way of life.”

You must not be a Christian, huh? I care for all people, Aaron. I’m a bleeding heart liberal who loves humanity as a whole but who also loves his country. But I’m not a Nationalist. I do not believe in “my country, right or wrong”. We’re all brothers and sisters as far as I’m concerned.

“We have the ACLU and leftists bitching and complaining about how sad and awful America is.”

I guess it’s all about how you look at things, isn’t it? You might say “bitching and complaining”, while we might say “working to right a wrong”.

“Is this because they wish to be seen in the same light as the people before them who had legitimate complaints?”

Again, it’s how you look at it. You may not think so, but we think that fighting for civil protections and rights ARE legitimate things to fight for.

Certainly you don’t think that rights are granted and then that’s that, do you? Rights and protections are under constant assault and therefore must be constantly fought to protect.

“I mean really, what is everyone so pissed off about? Lack of food in America? Lack of housing? Lack of opportunity? Lack of education? Lack of infrastructure? Lack of freedom and choice? The “totalitarian”government?”

All of the above and more. Believe it or not, there are people malnourished and hungry in America today. Believe it or not, there are tens of thousands of homeless people. Believe it or not, some communities do not have the same quality infrastructure as other communities. Believe it or not, freedom of choice is under constant attack…be it a woman’s body, or a couples right to choose to marry each other, regardless of their sexual orientation. Believe it or not, I’m walking on air…

“…I can go home to my air conditioned hoise and eat the food I bought that has been wrapped in plastic, not even finish it all, crack open a beer and watch 70 channels of crap while playing on the internet.”

A lot of the basic comforts you take for granted were given to you by liberals and fought against by conservatives.

That food you bought wrapped in plastic? Did you know that liberals fought for better food quality and health standards? Have you ever read Upton Sinclair’s “The Jungle”??

  21. You must not be a Christian, huh? I care for all people, Aaron. I’m a bleeding heart liberal who loves humanity as a whole but who also loves his country. But I’m not a Nationalist. I do not believe in “my country, right or wrong”. We’re all brothers and sisters as far as I’m concerned
Jesus understood evil and did not tolerate it. In fact the word SMITE comes to mind.

I guess it’s all about how you look at things, isn’t it? You might say “bitching and complaining”, while we might say “working to right a wrong”.
What wrongs do you personally face?

Certainly you don’t think that rights are granted and then that’s that, do you? Rights and protections are under constant assault and therefore must be constantly fought to protect
I think that is what the military is doing as we speak. Sounds conservative to me.

Believe it or not, I’m walking on air:
If only I had a super suit from aliens I would fix everything!!

A lot of the basic comforts you take for granted were given to you by liberals and fought against by conservatives

This is a matter of opinion. Liberals are not now what they once were. It goes back to my statement of having legitimate complaints. I have seen first hand the poor and downtrodden. I have also seen about 15 Grateful Dead shows where people are free to be bums under the guise of Capitalism. Being poor in America is better than being okay in the Sudan dont you think?

  22. And yes I have read the “Jungle”, but I have also read “Atlas Shrugged”

  23. “Jesus understood evil and did not tolerate it. In fact the word SMITE comes to mind.”

Jesus forgave. He didn’t smite. I can only think of one instance where he was angry in the bible, and that’s the temple incident with the money changers.

I guess you could say Jesus didn’t like Greed, which could be argued as being one of the main Republican Commandments.

“What wrongs do you personally face?”

Personally, not that many and I’m very thankful for that. If I had to pick one right off the bat, I’d say lack of affordable health care coverage for starters. But just because I have few complaints doesn’t mean I should ignore those who DO have more complaints. Right?

“I think that is what the military is doing as we speak.”

I guess it depends on how you look at it. Many would argue that the military (in Iraq) is causing more harm than good…

“If only I had a super suit from aliens I would fix everything!!”

But don’t lose the instruction manual!

“This is a matter of opinion.”

Man, just about everything is a matter of opinion. And, hey, I’ve been to plenty of Dead and Phish shows too.

“Being poor in America is better than being okay in the Sudan dont you think?”

Gosh, that’s setting the bar awfully low, don’t you think?
    We can do much better…

  24. SF, if someone were to attack you physically, would you defend yourself?

  25. reckon so.

  26. hahaha….good question Sasha….of course the answer to that would be no. San Fran has already stated he thinks being nice is being the better one. Good in theory, not so smart in practice.

    But that’s my opinion.

  27. SF, if someone broke into your home intent on violating property and persons, what would you do?

  28. been there. I kicked him the f*ck out!

  29. With the location of San Fran’s abode, my guess would be that he’s whip out his cell phone, dial 911 and run from the house. God knows that in San Francisco he’s not allowed to own or for that matter use any real means of self defense.
