Then why after spending a trillion dollars on Iraq, the way to solve the problem is to spend another trillion on it? Conservatives, the fake neo types, are now the big spenders, and leave the liberals in the dust when it comes to wasting our tax dollars – and oh yes, a year later after Katrina, and many blocks in New Orleans still do not have electricity.

Of course I would relocate them throughout the state also.

not to mention that you average rural PA district spends about $4,000 per pupil, while philly spends $8,000….you think there is some savings there????

I wonder how many teachers work in the Philly school district. Are you willing to let that many people lose their jobs? It would be an economic disaster for their families and their communities…

I have told people here that I could solve the problems of the philadelphia public schools in ONE SHOT…. close them down, chain them shut, and burn them to the ground.

then, go out to the 67 other functioning counties in pennsylvania and ask for volunteer families to take in 1 philadelphia student for the school year.

You would get more volunteers than you have students (proving all the black racists out there wrong)..the students would get clean air, they would learn, they would be fed, and they wouldn’t have to duck bullets.

so what’s the problem?

Vouchers can be compromised on. I will admit that, even though it’ll be a tough sell on Liberals – it’s possible.

Scraping the public school system as a whole is impossible and improbable.
