I needed to wipe my Diet Coke off the screen after reading this post; Late Nite FDL: Thank You, Republican Party . Why did I find it funny? Well it opens like this:
Today, Tramm Hudson, the
redneck chucklefuckRepublican running for the House seat being vacated by Katherine Harris said the following:“I grew up in Alabama and I understand, uh:I know this from my own experience; blacks are not the greatest swimmers, or may not even know how to swim.”
But hey, good Republicans like Hudson never met a racial stereotype they didn’t like. What’s next? Watermelon jokes? A GOP minstrel show? A cross-burning on the steps of the House of Representatives?
Funny this should be brought up by a writer at Firedoglake. Let’s refresh our memory on Jane Hamsher, the owner of the blog, shall we?!

Hamsher’s claim that she “answers to nobody,” he told her to pull the blackface Photoshop yesterday–and she dutifully complied.
Hamsher herself went ballistic last fall when first lady Laura Bush made a reference to comedian Eddie Cantor, who gained a following with his blackface routine.
“Does the first lady not know who Eddie Cantor was?” Hamsher wrote. “Or does she actually think it’s appropriate to invoke a comedian famous for appearing in blackface when talking about minority students, and then crack wise about their erstwhile future as criminals?”
And how about the slam on the redneck?! What’s up with that?
