Debbie Stabenow released the first campaign advertisement in the race for U.S. Senate on Thursday. The ad claims that Stabenow is the leader fighting for Michigan. Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, Saulius `Saul’ Anuzis, responded with the following statement:

“Times are tough in Michigan, and in six years in the U.S. Senate, Debbie Stabenow has done nothing to make things better. Stabenow has passed one bill in six years, renaming a federal building in Detroit, proving that the senator has done nothing to help our state. We need an effective leader who will represent the people, one that will do something, to turn Michigan around. Michigan does have a great future ahead, and with a new senator in Washington, D.C. we can all realize this promise.”

What did Debbie say in her ad? Well you can listen to it here, but let me give you the best part of it:

I will fight for a U.S. Trade Prosecuter?!? You have got to be kidding me! Ohio is benefitting from our losses and the best she can come up with is a promise of getting a prosecutor? And what will this prosecutor do? Will our neighbors stand with her? I doubt it. Ohio and Indiana are thriving compared to the mess we are in!
