Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Is there any reason that it is only the Democrats that have a problem producing an ID?

By: Pam On: Sep/20/06 - 7 Comments

The House voted to require Americans to show proof of citizenship in order to vote, and the Democrats assailed the legislation, saying it could hurt minorities, the poor and the elderly, groups that tend to vote Democratic, who might have trouble producing a photo identification.”

Is there any reason that it is only the Democrats that have a problem producing an ID?

They did everything they possibly could to prevent Proposition 200 from taking effect this Election day, but finally a federal judge told them that producing ID to prove you’re actually eligible to vote isn’t a hardship, especially with the lax requirements as to what constitutes ID in Arizona. They’ve now started whining again about the requirement to produce proof of citizenship to register to vote. At one of the 10,000+ illegal immigration support rallies, despite tons of publicity about it, they only managed to register about 125 people because of the requirement to prove citizenship. What does that tell you about where INS should’ve been those days? Now they’re talking about ceasing the flying illegals back to Mexico City. What is wrong with this picture?

I can’t think of any reason the Democrites would oppose IDs—except it will probably cost them about 5-8% of the vote.

They would sell their souls to the devil for political power (I believe many have).

The democrats rely on the brain-dead, brain-washed and the dead to vote.

1- Sorry Snowy Egret you’re wrong. Although the Republicans give lip service to smaller government, it’s very easy to show mathematically that over the last 30 years (and possibly more), it’s been just the opposite.
