   But haven’t we already been told by the Left/Democrites here that the new higher level of terrorist threat to the U.S. is George Bush’s fault? Before Bush, they just disliked us. Understandable, since we’re stealing their oil. But now they hate us! Why now, the gloves are off. They’re not going to restrain themselves any longer! No more fooling around! They are going to do very, very bad things! No more practical jokes, like the USS Cole bombing, or attacks on American embassies! Now it’s the real deal!

   Klinton had them in check. Yeah, a few people got killed here and there, but more people die every year from drowning in swimming pools. It was in the noise level. It was safer to be a potential terrorist victim statistically than to venture outside in a thunderstorm!

   This is essentially what we have been told.

   Have you noticed that there are a few lefties that are coming over to the correct side of the war on terror, and saying so openly? Sam Harris, for one, and Kirsten Powers is another. Liebermans’s been there for a good while. It’s not much, but it’s progress.

   No I have not seen it. I will if I get the chance.

   It is progress that some of the Left are finally grasping the obvious. Perhaps not all of them are mentally ill.

   This LA Times article by Sam Harris called Head in the Sand Liberals is a lot like the videos you linked to. Very encouraging. And Powers had a similar article at HuffPo. As to whether leftists are mentally ill - well, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, isn’t it? But still, I’m more hopeful about the country uniting around the idea that we actually have to fight this war than I was a year ago.

   Laura- we rant and rave, but we don’t believe all liberals are mentally ill:wink: I posted that Sam Harris article and it was very well written. I am curious..after reading his article, do you think he automatically became a conservative? I think that on this one issue he did, but that the message was, I can be a liberal on issues a,b and c..but on d, I will side with the conservatives. I gave him a ton of credit for writing what he did.

   I’m new to your blog, so I hadn’t seen your post on that. But, NO, I definitely don’t think he’s conservative overall. Just that, like the stopped clock, he’s right on this one occasion. I actually don’t give him too much credit - to me it’s akin to complimenting an adult on successfully tieing their shoes… liberals should have had this position from the beginning, and should have repudiated the moonbats in their midst much like Christians have repudiated that Phelps nut job. It’s a nearly perfect parallel with the war. If Carter had acted appropriately back in 1979, we’d have a great deal less to deal with today. If the left had policed their own back in 2001, we’d have gotten a lot further in fighting this war.
