House Defense chair asks Pentagon to remove embedded CNN reporters…

And they should….

CNN has become “the publicist for an enemy propaganda film” by broadcasting a video showing an insurgent sniper in Iraq apparently killing an American soldier, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said here Friday.

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-El Cajon) called for the Pentagon to oust any CNN reporter embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq.
“I think Americans like to think we’re all in this together,” Hunter said. “The average American Marine or soldier has concluded after seeing that film that CNN is not on their side.”

CNN said it broadcast the brief video to show the threat that insurgent snipers posed to U.S. troops.

“Whether or not you agree with us in this case, our goal, as always, is to present the unvarnished truth as best we can,” CNN producer David Doss wrote in a blog on the network’s website.

Tony Snow, President Bush’s press secretary, said the insurgents were hoping to “break the will of the American people” by giving the video to CNN.

The footage was shown first on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360″ program, of which Doss is executive producer, and then on several news shows. It remained on CNN’s website Friday.

Doss said CNN Baghdad correspondent Michael Ware received the video after communicating ” through intermediaries ” with Ibrahim Shammari, a spokesman for the Islamic Army.

Doss said the decision to broadcast the video came after hours of “intense editorial debate.”

Yes, they debated on when to show it to maximise coverage…

Let the CNN reporters stay, but encourage our troops to “frag” them, a just tradition started in Viet Nam. I suspect that they’d remove themselves very quickly.

We don’t need to frag them. simply dress them in US Army uniforms with bright shiny fake rank insignia. I recommend stars or oak leaf clusters, as they catch the light best. The Soldiers will ignore them and the Marines will salute them. CNN’s buddies, the terrorists, will take it from there. There is a reason why the US military stopped using shiny insignia in combat theatres. They seemed to be bullet magnets.

I don’t get the big deal. I’ve seen so many insurgent videos of American Soldiers being killed. I’ve also seen so many videos of ‘terrorists’ in Iraq being killed. It’s all on the internet for anyone to see.

“Simply dress them in US Army uniforms”

You don’t even have to do that. Many fundamentalists are already killing doctors, engineers, journalists, etc. Anyone who might disagree with their stance on religion.

My god?!?! CNN is the problem???

Honestly; don’t you guys ever grow mentally? Doesn’t it bother you that 3 years after Saddam was captured; Iraq is an even bigger mess and threat to America than ever? CNN isn’t the issue here. We, as Americans have got to figure out a better way to deal with the current mess in Iraq. Even President Bush is starting to see that.

We can never kill our way to victory in Iraq. I’ve been saying it for years.

When some moron Democrat is elected President of the United States of America, I will blame you idiot Republicans the most.

Don’t you ever grow tired of your ignorance Zelda? Did you even take the time to read what it is that this is about? The CNN reporters were not with our soldiers as they were being shot at, they were handed the videos by the insurgents, so yes Zelda, CNN is a big part of the problem!

“Don’t you ever grow tired of your ignorance Zelda?”

Yes. I am very tired of being ignorant. I wish the rest of you were.

    Iraq is a freaking mess.

What can really be done to deal with it? CNN isn’t even remotely important in the grand scheme of Iraq. Why focus on CNN instead of the actual mess that is Iraq? How is America going to deal with this problem? Blaming CNN isn’t going to get us anything but a moron Democratic President in January 2009.

    Seriously.

American policy in Iraq isn’t working. We need to change things.

For Republicans not to accept what I stated is a sure fire way for moron Democrats to take the Presidency and the Congress in 2008.

So the solution to solving the problems in Iraq is to be shown propaganda tapes provided by the insurgents? Funny, sounds like the press during Vietnam….

    CNN in bed with Terrorists

Let your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and anyone that you come upon know how much the liberals are trying to destroy this country, to the point they’d bed with terrorists just to tape a US Soldier being killed.
Excuse me now while I go …
