The Stern report last week predicted dire economic and social effects of unchecked global warming. In what many will see as a highly controversial polemic, Christopher Monckton disputes the ‘facts’ of this impending apocalypse and accuses the UN and its scientists of distorting the truth
Last week, Gordon Brown and his chief economist both said global warming was the worst “market failure” ever. That loaded soundbite suggests that the “climate-change” scare is less about saving the planet than, in Jacques Chirac’s chilling phrase, “creating world government”. This week and next, I’ll reveal how politicians, scientists and bureaucrats contrived a threat of Biblical floods, droughts, plagues, and extinctions worthier of St John the Divine than of science.
Sir Nicholas Stern’s report on the economics of climate change, which was published last week, says that the debate is over. It isn’t. There are more greenhouse gases in the air than there were, so the world should warm a bit, but that’s as far as the “consensus” goes. After the recent hysteria, you may not find the truth easy to believe. So you can find all my references and detailed calculations here.
Remember all the glib statements about global warming causing more frequent and more severe hurricanes? So last year was a bad year, why this one will be worse!!! Lookout! The shy is falling!!
This year = nada. Almost a flatline.
I argued this extensively earlier this year, bfore the hurircane season. I cited information from NASA scientists, some of the best hurricane experts in the world, who said that hurricanes were not increasing in frequency or intensity; it was all a cyclic thing.
I now claim victory in that argument. The Gorebots and suckers who argued with me were wrong, as I knew they would be.
Global warming is occurring, it is cyclic, and there is no proof that human generation of CO2 is a contributor worth mentioning. It is a hypothesis only, and if you know anything about science, you know what a hypothesis is. It isn’t even elevated to the status of a theory, and a theory is something that hasn’t been proven.
Don’t you Gorebots see that it is all about controlling your life to the nth degree?
So what became of all the big disasterrous hurricane we were suppost to be having with all this glibal warming and all the BS brought by AL GORE and his junk science A INCOVENENT TRUTH? and can you remember if you carred to even watch it KEVIN COSNERS rediclous film WATERWORLD. The greenhouse gas fraud is a way of:
1. Keeping researchers fully employed.
2. Making money for snake oil salesmen.
3. Empowering control over all of our lives.
But hurricanes are becoming more frequent and more intense! 2006 WORST hurrican season ever!!! NOT!
You are such a simpleton. CO2 levels have risen in the atmosphere=we’re all going to die!! Run for you life global warming is coming! Just for reference which south park character are you anyhow? Simple thoughts for simple minds I guess. I wonder how much you’ve really thought about this subject or do you prefer to be spoonfed your thoughts by others? Have you ever heard of the carbon cycle? Do you understand the relationship between CO2 and the far more abundant greenhouse gases like water vapor? Do you understand how little is known about how water reacts to temperature changes in the atmosphere or how cloud formations mess up the results? Do you understand how changes in solar output affect the Earth’s climate? Do you even have the slightest inkling of how complex a system our atmosphere is whatsoever? Oh wait is this where you’re going to tell me how you “learnt” it all in a movie you saw once?

The major greenhouse gases emitted by human activities remain in the atmosphere for periods ranging from decades to centuries. It is therefore virtually certain that atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases will continue to rise over the next few decades.

Increasing greenhouse gas concentrations tend to warm the planet.
The model for this is a computer model. The mechanisms are not fully understood or quantified. And I guess they/you forgot to mention that CO2 is a very, very small part of the total “greenhouse gas” contribution, and that naturally-occurring water vapor is as much as 100 times more of a greenhouse gas than CO2, and that man’s contribution to CO2 levels are at most ~if youo can’t trust the Bush admimistrations EPA, who can you trust. it’s not like the Administrator used to be the Head Guy At Some Arabian Horse Association.
So now you trust the Bush admin? If they were saying there was no problem whatsoever, you’d be howling about how you can’t trust the Bush Admin. on anything.
