Michelle asks: Jihadists do it. Why not gang-bangers? (via Boston Herald/hat tip – Brian Maloney)

One gang in Boston is using a new way to recruit – YouTube.
Luckily, the self-proclaimed Bloods gangbangers from “M.O.B. Charlestown Bricks” look too stupid in their highly rated home movie on the popular Web site to actually attract new members.

“Who red?” one yells.

“Sex, money, murder,” another screeches.

“Crack killer. Flake Killer. MS (13) Killer,” they chant, disrespecting other gangs as they flash silly hand signals with red bandannas around their faces.

…The video was clearly filmed in the hallway of the Bunker Hill housing development. At the time these morons posted the video they dubbed “Blood Gang MOB Beantown” on YouTube last December, it was quite literally the most dangerous and violent neighborhood in the entire city….

…There are 15,000 gang videos on YouTube, including another called “Columbia Point Dogz” that shows adults trading gang signals and banter on a basketball court in Dorchester’s Columbia Point. At one point, a man with a bandanna tied around his face pulls out what appears to be a .9 millimeter handgun from his waist…

So much for that YouTube Terms of Use policy, eh?

Michelle has a legitimate gripe about YouTube:

By the way, readers noticed something strange last week when I linked to Slate’s Video History of YouTube, which included the embedded video of my open letter to YouTube (”YouTube goes Dhimmi”) after “First, They Came” was yanked. If you click on the video, it now says this:

youtubelies.jpg

That is a lie. We never removed the video, which had some 100,000 downloads since it was posted on October 4. I repeat: We did not remove the video.

Which begs the questions: Who did? Why? And how many other videos have been yanked with the false notice that the “user” removed them?

Bryan has reposted it here. We wonder if it’ll stay up as long as the violence-promoting, profanity-laced gang-banger videos have.

No no no Snowy Egret Can’t take the guns out of those sweet little darling gangbangers. Just take them outa the hands of law abiding citizens. Don’t let those dirty coppers have automatic weapons as good as the gangbangers weapons. No, whty that would be wrong, wrong, wrong. Let the police and the law abiding be at the mercy of the gangs, I’m sure some left minded intellect would explain that is is the only correct way to go.
