If Swiftboating Means Telling The Truth, Than You Would be Correct John!

Boo freaking hoo John! Murtha decries ’swift boat-style’ attacks on ethics. A refresher course on John: Abscam & Porkmeister all rolled into one!

In routing the GOP in the November 7 elections, Democrats attacked what they called a Republican “culture of corruption.”

Now a Washington watchdog group is questioning the party’s sincerity, alleging Murtha steered Pentagon contracts to businesses that hired his brother as a lobbyist.

“How can Americans believe that the Democrats will return integrity to the House when future Speaker Pelosi has endorsed an ethically challenged member for a leadership position?” Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, asked in a written statement. “Rep. Murtha is the wrong choice for this job.”

Murtha told ABC in October that his brother “was treated like everybody else.”

Murtha also turned up in the FBI’s Abscam investigation in 1980, when undercover agents offered bribes to several members of Congress. Murtha was videotaped turning down a bribe “at this point,” and he was not charged.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Murtha — who just won an 18th term — blasted critics who raised concerns about “unfounded allegations that occurred 26 years ago.” (see video tape here)

“I thought we were above this type of swift-boating attack,” he said, referring to the largely refuted but widely publicized attacks on Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry’s military record in 2004. “This is not how we restore integrity and civility to the United States Congress.”

Here is a bit of background on that deal with his brother:

Republican lawmakers say that ties between Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) and his brother’s lobbying firm, KSA Consulting, may warrant investigation by the House ethics committee.
The calls come as Murtha, a former Marine and pro-military Democrat, has made headlines this week by coming out in support of a rapid withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

According to a June 13 article in The Los Angeles Times, the fiscal 2005 defense appropriations bill included more than $20 million in funding for at least 10 companies for whom KSA lobbied. Carmen Scialabba, a longtime Murtha aide, works at KSA as well.

KSA directly lobbied Murtha’s office on behalf of seven companies, and a Murtha aide told a defense contractor that it should retain KSA to represent it, according to the LA Times.

In early 2004, Murtha reportedly leaned on U.S. Navy officials to sign a contract to transfer the Hunters Point Shipyard to the city of San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. A company called Lennar Inc. had right to the land, and Laurence Pelosi, nephew to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was an executive with the firm at that time.

Murtha also inserted earmarks in defense bills that steered millions of dollars in federal research funds toward companies owned by children of fellow Pennsylvania Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D).

    We don’t.

And let me state this in no unclear terms:

SFL, Shiloh, Kelf and anyone else who may think otherwise- if you beleive that this happening exists in even the slightest possibility then you are a fool.

Why can’t you people just admit that the American people have spoken their will loud and clear? And that they have chosen the Democratic Party, and Liberalism, as the future of America? The Democrats now have a mandate to sweep all vestiges of Republicans, Conservatives, and the Religious Right from the National political landscape. The Democratic message has resonated, and the people have said No! to the Republicans and their allies.

Now the sooner you accept defeat and get in line to support the Democrats, the better for all. Until then you really are political insurgents. I doubt the democrats will tolerate insurgency, as they have such a complete mandate from the voters.

Neither do I. I’ve said before that I think that the Democrats are nearly as bad as the Republicans. Both are owned by the same corporations. Again, look at the list of major campaign donors over the last few elections. People say that Dems and Reps are like Coke and Pepsi: Coke and Pepsi are at least separate companies.

6-i believe it is also disengenuous to think the dems can come up with any “solution”to Iraq. this is the war of choice Bush created & it is going to be under his name in the history books, not Nancy Pelosi’s.

Kinda like Vietnam..it was Kennedys, but somehow it became Nixon’s..

murtha, kerry, pelosi, moore, jane fonda, clinton & clinton are to you, now, distractions from your own intra-party problems which is why i am happy Nope, they will be your worst nightmare..

Yes, it can be but with some patience can be tracked. The Bush/Clinton crime fa,mily is an extensive one. Through George Soros into the mix and you have the makings of a “one world” governement.

Of course, that just may be my paranoia talking.

Hillary is soon to be under oath in the historic civil trial in Los Angeles, Paul v Clinton. She has turned in a sworn declaration to the court that is a work of fiction. This case involves the Clinton role in the collapse of a public company, Stan Lee Media, the filing of four false FEC reports, and an illegal campaign contribution of $1.6 million. Famous Wall Street whistleblower James Nesfield has joined the effort TRUTH BOATING HILLARY, using his foundation, the Equal Justice Foundation of America — http://www.ejfa.org
