Your Stupidity Has Nothing To Do With The Patriot Act

Michelle Malkin has the story Screaming UCLA student tasered. Click image to watch the video.

Refer to this Code Of Conduct. Student in violation of 102.16 or failure to comply. This has nothing to do with the Patriot Act, and everything to do with a kid that thinks he is above the law. After 11:00 pm, students are asked to show their id while in the library. This idiot seemed to think he was above the rules. It looks like CAIR does too.

CAIR: ISLAMIC LEADERS CALL FOR PROBE OF STUDENT TASERING
Southern California Islamic leaders are calling for an independent investigation into Tuesday night’s incident at the UCLA library where campus police apparently stunned a student with a “Taser” gun.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations urged “state and national authorities, including the FBI” to investigate the incident involving the 23-year-old Mostafa Tabatabainejad.

Shall we have leaders try to determine why their client is too ignorant to follow direction? Or how about we have them try to determine what audience the idiot was trying to capture.

  1. My heavens, that individual sounds like he is still stuck in the “terrible twos.”

  2. The unwashed, the terrorist lovers, the prissy boys and dikes of ACLU will be screaming and crying thier little hearts out. Law abiding citizens will cheer. Kick his a– out of college, and if he’s a foriegn student kick his a– outa the U.S.

  3. He was rightfully approached. The subsequent repeated abuse, however, was unwarranted. You can’t move after being tasered, and they kept hitting him again and again because he wasn’t moving. That’s the issue, not his lack of ID. Everyone knows the kid did something wrong, the problem is that the police did something wrong as well.

  4. Just because someone is out of line, (or an asshole) doesn’t warrant abuse. It’s clear the tasering wasnt’ having the disired effect of subduing the suspect, why repeat? He was clearly no threat.

  5. Hey Sanity..good to see you! Actually, the guy was moving and was coherant enough to try and use the Patriot Act as an excuse..he also was alert enough to state that another gentleman wanted their badge numbers..none of this would have happened had he just shown his id or in the event that he didn’t have his id, left…after about the 3rd taser, he said alright, I will leave…so, it really does come down to the fact that the campus security and police have a job to do, and this kid was resisting..there never would have been a need for the 1st taser had he just left..he chosenot to…it may appear that they were out of line, but CA penal code supports them. It appears that the Chancellor does as well. Had the kid just followed the request of the campus officer, the cops never would have been called..see, we are seeing a tape with the cops and the campus community worker with the kid..what wasn’t caught on tape is why the cops had to come…

  6. BTW, they used a stun gun and not a taser as I said!

  7. And the kid walked out on his own…

Yes, I was indeed at Powell Library at approximately 11:30 on Tuesday night, and yes I did see the entire event as it went down.
Let me start off by saying that the guy DEFINITELY was asking to get his ass kicked. He was being extremely rude with the campus patrol guys (who are college students:this was before the real UCPD got called in). He was not complying with their requests to leave the premises, and he was definitely itching for a fight. I actually know the guy and a few of his friends, and I can tell you that he’s the kind of guy that loves to make trouble.
Just as a little backstory, one of the quotes the guy has on his facebook (which he now has taken down) was “I like to find the most difficult solutions to the simplest of problems”.
He definitely taunted the UCPD into behaving the way they did with him.
Edit: Many people have questioned the fact that the cops tazed him and asked him to get up, and tazed him again even though he shouldn’t have the capability to get up. This was not the case here to my knowledge, because the cops were using their “drive-stun”method which administers less of a jolt than normal. I believe this because anyone who can ramble on about this being the patriot act and yell at the top of his lungs should have the capability of getting up.
[H]e just said he was leaving to add fire to the scene. The guy wasn’t going anywhere until he got tazered. It was a bait tactic on the part of tazer-boy. When the cops initially asked him to leave he was limp like a drunk’s dick.

  9. Taser’s, like real guns, are NOT the be all and end all that the TV makes them out to be. The effect of a taser has a lot to do with how long the user holds the trigger down AFTER the probes make contact. It also has to do with the output of the Taser. They have recently come out with a newer more powerful unit because the older ones weren’t as effective on some people as needed. For an example of this, see the original Rodney King video. In it King is tasered and still has the strength to get back up and pull the probes from his body. Short shocks caused by lightly depressing and quickly releasing the trigger can encourage a hostile suspect to cooperate without rendering him incapable of movement. A lot of ACLU types scream about the use of the Taser, but I simply have to ask that, considering the alternative for the safety of the officer is a 9 millimeter or 40 caliber jacketed hollow point, which would you prefer the police officer use? They don’t use either one on cooperative subjects. WOuldn’t it simply make more sense to encourage people to obey the police officers’ commands?

  10. FrmrArtyOffcr, you presume one trusts the officer. America is quickly entering an age where we’re seeing why the founding fathers put in the Second Amendment.

  11. “hey boys” America is quickly becoming a third world non nation, the fact is soon tasers and nice words will disappear and just be like any third world cops, someday cops will shot people down like dogs! its normal in a third world so called country to see people dead in the streets after a police killing and L.A. Is becoming the next mexico city.

    and who cares?
faces facts most of you want a third world America anyway!

  12. Hey Fred, unless we get this illegal alien issue dealt with soon, you’ll be all too right. Just up and leaving the border wide open allows these third world dirt bags to waltz right in, do whatever the hell they want, and run back south of the border. We had a woman leave her 4 kids with her 17 yr old (What’s wrong with this picture? Hint: What’s a woman with 4 kids doing haveing a 17 yr old boyfriend?) boyfriend while she went to work. When she got home her three oldest kids were alone and her youngest daughter was dead. Her oldest kids told her that her boyfriend had kicked the 18 mo old in the chest because she wouldn’t stop crying. And where was this teenage miscreant? Why he’d jump the border back into Mexico BEFORE the crime had even been discovered. Don’t give me that crap about they only want to come here to work. If that were the case, why are illegal aliens only 4 percent of the general population while over 24 percent of the prison population? That means that they are 6 times as likely to be commit felonies than US citizens or legal resident aliens. I heard a statistic that they also represent 90% of the fugitives wanted for murder in Los Angeles as well. Every time they make a huge drug bust here in Arizona, it invariably involves illegal aliens.

We need to start securing the border before Fred’s forecast becomes true. Hell I can’t even read half of the billboards along the highway because they’re in Spanish with NO English on them. Now I might be able to understand that for something like El Mexicano food products, but Heinekin beer? Don’t the people at Heinekin know that Mexicans buy Bud Light? why are Heinekin ads in Spanish but Corona ads are in English?

  13. On YouTube, someone made a comment that I agreed with completely:

“Regardless of what the individual said or done, electrocuting someone who is on the floor and not posing a threat to the safety of the officers and threatening to electrocute other innocent individuals is totally unjustified and an abuse of power. Tasers should be used as a last resort.”

As the officer quoted on Malkin’s site said, if the police would have not been afraid of being in another Rodney King, “that guy would have been jacked up and carried out in under 30 seconds, without tasers, noise, or video.”

It’s a pity. If the guy actually had a reasonable cause or an objective, I would have felt an odd sympathy for him. Now I think he just hates police.

  14. Shiloh, he walked out of the library. No one disputed he was tased multiple times. The campus safety officers needed to call the police who stunned him.

Take a look at 8, it is from another person who was there..bottom line is, the kid brought this upon himself…

  15. It is not for the students to decide what is proportional. The police are well within their right to do this…even CA has laws…his own words and actions will be his downfall in a suit..one can take down a facebook page, but it is retrivable…

  16. “the fact that you have already decided is immaterial.”

Also just as immaterial is the fact that you have already decided.

And now, I will present first hand accounts that counter-act post #3. My best friend works at the State Patrol as an active police officer. He has been tasered, and he allowed myself to be tasered as well. The assertion in post 3 that you can not move after being tasered in false. Besided the thumping in my skull, I could moved just fine after a full 5 second charge.

  18. I worked in a late night study room in college. While it technically closed at midnight, I was supposed to have it completely vacuumed, and the trash removed by midnight. Some of the students would get outright hostile when I came through with the shop vac at 11:45 pm. Luckily I’m big enough noone wanted to try and get physical over it, but they did make some nasty comments. They complained that they didn’t have to leave until midnight, so I simply replied that I wasn’t throwing them out, but I still had to vacuum the place before midnight. Seeing as they refused to pay me on more than one occasion for working past midnight because of the ignorant twits, they got no sympathy from me when I came through to vacuum. Besides, I needed to get home to study for my classes.
