And you can bet CAIR was on the tarmack in record time:
Six Muslim imams were removed from a US Airways flight at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and questioned by police for several hours before being released, a leader of the group said…
A passenger initially raised concerns about the group through a note passed to a flight attendant, according to Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for US Airways. She said police were called after the captain and airport security workers asked the men to leave the plane and the men refused…
The six Muslim scholars were returning from a conference in Minneapolis of the North American Imams Federation, said Shahin, president of the group. Five of them were from Arizona, one was from Bakersfield, California, he said.
Three of them stood and said their normal evening prayers together on the plane, Shahin said.
Allahpundit sees it this way: “CAIR’s promising a formal complaint in the morning to protest law enforcement’s inexplicable suspicions about a group of men onboard a commercial flight rising out of their seats in tandem and praying to Allah.”

How ridiculous! Of course in this post 9-11 world, after the Jihadists have declared war on America, these Muslim clerics should still be able to stand up on board a flight and chant their prayer! It is their civil right to do so without interference! Why, had they even shouted “Allah Akhbar!” that would have been their right too!!!
Just because Islam is the religion that has stated it would kill us is absolutely no reason whatsoever to suspect these holy men of anything more than the fact that they were just exercising their rights!!!
I hope the ACLU is flying in a team of lawyers from New York to look this over! Surely there is a valid claim/lawsuit here!!!

Actually, I wouldn’t have even gotten on the same flight with these jokers.

Funny you should say that Robert. A devout Muslim from Phoenix called into a local talk show and said the exact same thing.
These imams may have the right to say their prayers in public, BUT they do not have the right to say them on a plane. What’s the difference? Planes are NOT public, they are private property and while I have a permit to carry a concealed gun, that doesn’t mean I have a right to carry it in a shopping mall that has a sign posted on the door prohibiting firearms on the premises. If I enter the mall with a firearm and they discover I have it, they have the right to ask me to leave, and have me arrested for trespassing if I refuse. They even have the right to ban me permanently from their property for violating their policy. That is what the airline has done here. They have banned these imams from their property.

There is another thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that a Muslim was picked up with $78,000 in CASH in the Minneapolis airport last week. An incident that has been mysteriously absent from the MSM.

That was Detroit FAO..I linked to it above…perhaps the most appalling thing about the story: a federal judge had to overrule a magistrate’s decision to release him.
A federal judge overturned a lower ruling Monday and ordered detention for a man stopped at Detroit Metropolitan Airport with articles about nuclear plants and suitcase bombs and the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
U.S. District Judge Paul D. Borman ruled Sisayehiticha Dinssa, 34, was both a flight risk and a danger to the community. He overturned a ruling by U.S. Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen, who earlier on Monday ordered Dinssa released under strict supervision.
Dinssa, an Ethiopian-born U.S. citizen who lists his address as Dallas, Texas, was arrested Tuesday at Detroit Metropolitan Airport after arriving from Kenya by way of Amsterdam.
He is charged with currency smuggling after telling Customs agents he was only carrying about $18,000 before a search of his luggage turned up nearly $80,000.
Though he faces no terrorism charges to date, Assistant U.S. Attorney Leonid Feller told Borman that evidence found in Dinssa’s luggage and inside his laptop computer makes him a potential threat to national security.
Agents found articles about nuclear plants, suitcase bombs and a hard-copy commemorative edition of the Dallas Morning News from Sept. 11, 2002 — the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, Feller said.
Agents also found a hand-written note saying: “This community is angry. Something is going to happen. We are going to see justice. This is a powder keg waiting to go off.”

Detroit? My bad. Isn’t Detroit within a few hours drive from Minneapolis? It is conceivable that all of these people were congregating together in the upper mid west only flying out of different airports to try and avoid suspicion. Of course that is only a theory and the fact that CAIR corporate officers have been arrested and convicted of money laundering for terrorist organizations has absolutely nothing to do with an Islamist being arrested with nearly $80k in cash and lying about it. Not a thing, Nope no connection whatsoever, never happened. Personally the correct response would be for the Imams in question to be banned from all airlines. Send a message that disrupting a flight for any reason gets you booted from all of them for at least 5 years. It might not stop the terrorists, but it’ll damn sure cut down on their intel gathering abilities. What if these Imams had done this while in flight and the sky marshal had had to come up to sort out the situation. It would’ve left the sky marshal with his back turned to a potential terrorist. This could’ve easily been an attempt to identify which airline will deal with Islamists disrupting flights most harshly.

Isn’t Detroit within a few hours drive from Minneapolis? More than a few but what is more important is the fact that MN is the ususal flight destination(stop/changeover) for most flights out of MI for westward travelers….
