Ahmadinejad to Americans: Stop ‘blind support’ for Israel…

Sure, just let the Middle East kill them off and everything will be just peachy!

In an open letter, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad urged the American people Wednesday to demand the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and reject what he called the US government’s “blind support” for Israel and its “illegal and immoral” actions in fighting terrorism.

  1. This is still a country of immigrants, but they are expected to use the front door when they enter:

bit difficult when the lock (rules) were changed given who was entering…

    Be that as it may;

I don’t suggest for a moment there’s a quick fix but what would you do with the Mexicans who have been here (and have American born citizen children) and are yet illegal by status?

  2. bit difficult when the lock (rules) were changed given who was entering: Why and when did it occur?

but what would you do with the Mexicans who have been here (and have American born citizen children) and are yet illegal by status? send them home to wait in line..why do you think they came here and had the kid?

  3. #52 Why and when did it occur?

Fear and a lull in immigration.

People assimilate over two generations usually. My own Irish American friend supports your ideas with regard to immigration though her own ancestors well into the 20th century suffered intolerance for two obvious reasons.

    1) Roman Catholicism
    2) Fear of a change in customs to the “American Way” by those already here.

send them home to wait in line..why do you think they came here and had the kid?

Send them home? You pay to ’round ‘em up peejz… evey last one of them.

    That’ll be interesting.

They came here and got horny and had children. You seem to imply it’s some Mexican take-over plot to people these United States with their offspring in order to gain a foothold.

I bet they just got drunk and laid like the rest of us.

  4. The Irish were but one group that have been discriminated against because of their religion. My Irish ancestors were looked down upon because of more than their Catholocism. And assimilation to this country is not a bad thing. Please tell me the benefit of having kids in a classroom that can not speak the language. Many illegals have the idea that it isn’t necessary to speak English at home because the kids will learn it at school..thatis taxing the teachers and the educational process.

Send them home? You pay to ’round ‘em up peejz: evey last one of them. It is cheaper than keeping them. They didn’t come here and get pregnant, but you already knew that. They came across the border to drop the kid to get an automatic stay…

I’m 100% with you regarding the language thing. Do not assume otherwise.

And yes I know all about how the Irish were looked down on since it was partially those from whom I descend who did the “looking down”. So I have firsthand accounts to go on. Perhaps that’s why I’m hyper-cognizant of the necessity of not being exclusionary and (again) erring on the side of being perhaps overly-fair.

They came across the border to drop the kid to get an automatic stay:

‘drop a kid’ Graphic imagery.

I’m sure that’s true to some degree – there are rotten eggs in every basket – but you really cannot think that’s the case on any large scale can you? Tell me you don’t.

  6. Being looked down upon motivated my Grandfather..(seriously)..he was very successful and passed that down to us through life lessons..So thank your relatives for that:wink:

but you really cannot think that’s the case on any large scale can you? Tell me you don’t. Of course I don’t think every single person coming is is having a kid in order to stay, I am saying it is the majority and not the minority doing it…see anchor babies

  7. It’s the case on a huge scale! Where have you been for the last 20 years? In a cave in Tora Bora? You don’t know these basic facts?

No wonder you cling stubbornly to the notions you have. To paraphrase Al Gore, the data is all in. The debate is over. Illegal immigration is clearly on the balance very bad for America.

    Case closed.

  8. My post #57 refers of course to Eben, post #55 and his almost childlike ignorance of reality with regards to illegal immigration.

  9. re #56 peejz

Being looked down upon motivated my Grandfather..(seriously)..he was very successful and passed that down to us through life lessons..So thank your relatives for that

Kind of like Streisand being made to eat under her kitchen table by her stepfather.. I get it! Anyhow there is something to the notion that adversity provides incentive I agree.

    re 57 & 58

if ‘childlike’ implies I tend to look at the good in humankind rather than what’s wrong with everything then I’m guilty as charged Robert.

Don’t ever forget we’re a nation of immigrants mon ami.

  10. We’re not talking about “humankind” we are talking about a specific issue.
And we are a nation of Legal immigrants. The melting pot only works with that model; when immigrants melt.

Here’s a 100 MPH fastball you can’t hit, and it is just one issue that alone, standalone, compels the halting of illegal immigration: Public Health. Illegals are not screened. Do you want to contract TB because of an illegal?

    shiloh and solarc have competition…

  11. 60- I’ll disagree on this point: shiloh and solarc have competition. Eben is an idealist, as are we, but he is able to see another point of view and actually discuss a problem, acknowledge a point, and present an arguement..
