Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year….
I will be spending my time with the granddaughters. They are 3 l/2 and 2 which is the age of real enjoyment. Of course I have spoiled them rotten but that’s what I’m supposed to do.
I will also think of our troops overseas, not just in Iraq, but every place they are away from home. May God Bless each and every one of them and bring a safe return in 2007.
If any are out there reading this I hope you know we love you! Keep up the good work!

PCD, will you be donating that bonus to the Hillary Clinton campaign? Or maybe to the Bill Klinton legal defense fund?
Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah, everyone, and Happy New Year!
And for our Muslim “friends”, Happy Ramadamadingdong..

Robert,
Nah, I’m thinking on the lines of the admission to Hangoverfest at Cordova, IL, and run a few quarter miles on the track. It is “Run what ya brung.”
Some of the rest could fund an engine upgrade that would net a minimum of 70Hp. That or a couch for the living room.

Merry Christmas to all.

Thanks Peezj- it means about $320.00 less per month in health care expenses, among many other breaks to our budget.

Hi everyone, and Merrrrryyy Christmas!
This year, my mother and I are cooking Christmas dinner for some family friends we have known for nearly 50 years.
They now live in Westminster, Maryland, about 45 minutes outside of DC. The husband is a former OB/GYN. He delivered all of my sister’s children. Sadly he suffered a stroke in 1970 and, though still alive, is badly debilitated. His wife, also an MD is now suffering from Parkinson’s and scoliosis. Suffice it to say they don’t get around much anymore.
What’s for dinner? A roasted Eye of the Round (at their request) with a sweet potato casserole, other veggies and a lovingly built garden salad.
Their four sons and I grew up together. I don’t expect to see them except for the oldest and youngest. The other two are in Utah and Pennsylvania.
Be that as it may, it should be a happy gathering.
All my best wishes for a blessed Christmas and a successful New Year to all the readers and posters here at RWV.
((((All)))

Well, Peejz,
Maybe bittersweet, maybe not. The “Joneses” (not their real name, of course) and we spent countless holidays together when we were all younger. The papa could prepare the most delicious rotisserie leg of lamb this side of heaven during our almost weekly cookouts during the summer.
“Those were the days, my friend. We thought they would never end….”
I just got off the phone with my mother who is Jewish. For Christmas breakfast I will go to the homeplace and enjoy some lox and bagel before we head to Westminster.
Our house was one where one could always be sure to see a crucifix on one wall and a mazuzah on the right lentil of our front door.

#12 Snowy: have a “Wonderful Life”!
December 23, 2006 - 01:56 PM on December 23rd, 2006
I could not parse this topic without commentating on the distasteful display of blind faith in a fairy tale exhibited in these posts.
First of all, it’s “Xmas”. Us Liberal Socialist Atheists cannot stand any mention, verbally or in writing, of the object of this blind faith and allegiance exhibited by our hated political enemies, the religious right. And of course we will not stop, through the efforts of our Communist-inspired ACLU organization, until traditional religion is effectively destroyed and those who practice it are criminalized. Never moind what the Constitution says; we are creating our own version (Konstitution).
So enjoy your Happy Xmas while you can, because the dark cloud of Liberalism is covering the Land. With Hillary and Osama Obama in the WH in 2008 we will consolidate control!
