“The final meetings have taken places,” the official said, adding in Iraqis have requested Sddam be turned over to them. “The process is now in the final stage.”
Earlier, the Associated Press reported via a top Iraqi official that Saddam would be hanged before 10 p.m. ET Friday night (6 a.m. Saturday in Baghdad).
The official witnesses to the impending execution gathered Friday in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone in final preparation for his hanging, and state television broadcast footage of his regime’s atrocities.

Saddam Hussein (or, as I prefer, “SoDamn Insane” - thanks, Misha) is scheduled to meet his Maker tonight. The Iraqis tried and convicted him, his appeal was denied, and his sentence will be, er… executed. I’m gritting my teeth, but

So today (our time) is the day:
BAGHDAD, Iraq ? Saddam Hussein’s date with death appears to be just hours away. The former president of Iraq will be hanged “within a matter of hours,” a Bush administration official told FOX News on Friday.

Jesse Jackson is also shedding tears for Saddam.”
The asswipes are already crying over Saddam, and he hasn’t even been executed yet! Maybe we could stay Sadaam’s execution long enough to fly the senior editorial staff of the NY Times to Baghdad and hang them alongside Sadaam? Would they feel better, showing solidarity with poor Sadaam?
After all, they are lying manipulators too, attempting to undermine America. And they are Traitors.

The next question is how will the execution be carried out.
In the history of this country, there have been two separate and distinct means of executing someone by hanging. One is called “Death by hanging”. The other execution order is “To hang by the neck until dead.” The difference sounds subtle, but the actual difference between the two is extreme. In “Death by hanging”, the knot is placed at the side of the neck and the rope given an adequate amount of slack so that the neck snaps from the force of the fall. This can be a tricky procedure because there are specific formulas to follow to insure that the drop distance is adequate to break the offender’s neck, without snapping his head completely off. The State of Delaware had a particularly brutal serial killer be executed to “Death by Hanging” in the late 80s. When lethal injection came on the scene, they asked him if he would prefer that. He replied that even asking the question was cruel and that they should either hang him or let him go. As the state hadn’t actually executed anyone in over 20 years, they no longer had a gallows or the knowledge on how to build or use one. A lengthy search revealed that, like virtually everything else, the US Army had a technical manual on how to conduct a proper hanging. Following the information in the manual, the state had a gallows built and hung the s.o.b. He will never again kidnap, rape, torture and then murder another living soul.
The other method would be to “Hang by the neck until dead”. For those who are familiar with the movie “The Molly Maguires”, this was the method used for executing the actual people who were portrayed in the movie. In “Hang by the neck until dead”, the knot in the noose is placed at the back of the neck, and the drop is substantially less, thereby constricting or crushing the larynx and trachea, but not breaking the neck. Death is by slow strangulation and records show that people have remained alive for as much as 19 minutes after being hung.
Needless to say, hanging by the neck until dead is probably the option that the Iraqi courts will opt for.
What Jesse Jackson and others who oppose his execution may not think of very much, is that most Iraqis WANT Saddam dead.

Why of course the phoney rev. Jackson opposed the execution. Any enemy of a free America is a friend of the Jack-ass-son. Only one thing could have made the execution better, instead of the gallows, they had used the electric chair and had Jackson holding Saddam insanes hand. Two scumbags with one pulling of the switch.
