And Here I thought 2007 Would Be Different
How silly of me to think that Pat Robertson would think before he spoke. Today he told his listening audience:
Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.
I guess it was quite a stretch to think that with Kofi Annan gone, there may be hope for the U.N. I didn’t see a problem with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon not stating the anti death penalty stance of the UN, but I have a big problem with the snub we are rumored to be receiving this week:
The administration and management job traditionally has gone to an American, but this time, it could be different.
Press reports over the weekend indicated that Ban might choose Alicia Barcena of Mexico to head up the administration and management office, but that report has not been confirmed. Barcena is the former chief of staff of Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who left that position late last year, making way for Ban.
The appointment of a non-American to the job would be a “disaster” for the U.S.-led effort to reform the U.N., according to one U.N. official.
Why would the Bush Administration pander to CAIR? Does that make any sense? Michelle said her blood boiled! Guess what? Mine did too!
I guess it was a pipe dream to think that the MSM could figure out how to do what FOX has done successfully. Instead, we have Chris Matthews naming Bill O’Reilly as one of the top despots of 2006:
Chris Matthews: “Next up, ‘Desperate Despots.’ 2006 was a big year in America’s rogues gallery. North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il launched a nuclear test. Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez called President Bush ‘the Devil’ at the UN. Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rode a wave of Muslim anger over Danish cartoons to international celebrity. How in the hell did this guy get in there? Bill O’Reilly ” how did he get in there? Dan, I think we were thinking of you, maybe, here.”Â
Dan Rather: “I don’t know why you would do that.”
Matthews: “Does Bill O’Reilly belong on this list? What about Ahmadinejad. People tell me that it was written that Time magazine almost made this guy man of the year he was so big this year.”
Katty Kay (BBC Washington Correspondent): “But there’s a despot missing from this crowd, too, and that’s Vladimir Putin, and if you’re looking at what’s happening over the past few weeks–”
Matthews, interrupting: “We bumped him for O’Reilly. What do you think?” (Laughter)
See, some things never change!

I wonder if the Democrats are going to allow the voters to “Speak Truth to Power” or as the Democrats did under Wright and Foley, to only pay attention to their large donors. It looks like only the big money donors get to talk to them. Not what they advertised they’d do.

Month of Apple Bugs
Apple says they have a “great track record” of fixing bugs, but they still haven’t fixed the last one reported in QuickTime. Will we see one of those “I’m a Mac – and I’m a PC” commercials with the “Mac” guy having sniffles now?

If you’ve got the stomach for this, the Dubya administration has been pandering to CAIR on issues involving transportation security. As if Chicago’s O’Hare airport doing that wasn’t bad enough.

Illegal War?
It’s plain to me that Watada’s defense, based on the assumption that the war is illegal, or that the administration lied us into the war doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. The war in Iraq is a legal war. Lt. Watada was given a legal order to deploy, and …
