It Was Only A Matter Of Time Before Arnold Became A Kennedy!

His health-care plan reeks of socialism!  He plans to provide coverage to all 763,000 children, including illegal immigrants, who now lack insurance.  That is noble, but costly and he has yet to announce how it will be paid for.  The most disturbing part of the plan:

All sectors of the health-care industry, including hospitals, insurers, doctors, patients, businesses and government, would pay some of the costs under Schwarzenegger’s plan. People familiar with the proposal say that it includes new requirements for businesses to cover employees, though the details were unclear. The more cost shouldered by employers and workers, the less the state would have to spend.

In addition, a number of measures favored by some aides, such as limiting the profits of insurers, remain undecided.

Limiting profits? Requirements for businesses to insure employees?  Let’s take a look at the texbook defintion of socialism:

System of social organization in which private property and the distribution of income are subject to social control; also, the political movements aimed at putting that system into practice. Because “social control” may be interpreted in widely diverging ways, socialism ranges from statist to libertarian, from Marxist to liberal. The term was first used to describe the doctrines of Charles Fourier, Henri de Saint-Simon, and Robert Owen, who emphasized noncoercive communities of people working noncompetitively for the spiritual and physical well-being of all (see utopian socialism). Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, seeing socialism as a transition state between capitalism and communism, appropriated what they found useful in socialist movements to develop their “scientific socialism.” In the 20th century, the Soviet Union was the principal model of strictly centralized socialism, while Sweden and Denmark were well-known for their noncommunist socialism. See also collectivism, communitarianism, social democracy.

There  is some hope that this will fall apart:

The GOP is a minority in both houses of the Legislature, but most proposals involving state spending require a two-thirds vote, giving Republicans the power to stop them. However, it is possible that Schwarzenegger’s plan could be molded to need a simple majority vote, like the last major piece of health-care legislation to become law.

That measure, a 2003 mandate that most employers provide insurance for their workers, was repealed by voters the following year.

LOL…you guys are on the wrong side of history here.

Our current, FAILED health care system is a joke and is on its way out the door, slowly but surely.

Universal Health Care is eventual and unavoidable. It’s only a matter of time…

    ..baby steps.
