The US bombing in Somalia is believed to have killed Fazul Abdullah Muhammad, who planned the 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in East Africa. If true, this would be wonderful. This should have been dealt with years ago. I could care less if people question the timing, at least this POTUS does his job.
American air raids in southern Somalia may have killed the suspected Al Qaeda terrorist who planned the 1998 United States embassy bombings in east Africa, Somalia officials said today.
“I have received a report from the American side chronicling the targets and list of damage,” Abdirizak Hassan, the Somali president’s chief of staff, told The Associated Press. “One of the items they were claiming was that Fazul Abdullah Muhammad is dead.”
American officials have said that Mr. Muhammad, 32, planned the attacks on the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that killed 225 people.

We should have sent an emissary to the Somali Al Qaeda groups to peacefully discuss our differences. Of course it wouldn’t be easy but as soon as agreement is reached it would serve as a model for the rest of the world! Then our allies and opponents alike would see the U.S. as a shining model of peace, progressiveness, and diversity! The militants would lay down their arms and flock to the side of concensus, peace, and love!
We can only hope the new Democratic Congress will reign in the out-of-control wanna-be cowboy!
