I’m not ignoring the general consensus. I am saying the general consensus is unfounded.

I have…and what’s your point? i’ve heard him speak well, and at times I’ve heard him speak poorly. It is a misconception that oration skills are a sign intelligence of the lack thereof. “He sounds stupid so he must be stupid.” is an archaic concept, one even more pathetic when advanced through the protective sheild of a keyboard and anonymity.

I’m sure he’s an OK guy to have around the neighborhood and kick back a few beers with, but he is NOT presidential material. At least, not like it should be.

And that’s the beauty of the process that you just seem to miss.

“Presidential material” can be anyone who is of age and proper citizenship. He is no less “presidential material” than Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan JFK or FDR.

Look, my entire family back east are Hard-Core Republicans/Bush Lovers and they all agree that when Bush speaks they often involuntarily curl their toes up in their shoes out of discomfort.

Intersting statement. Even my 8 year old daughter knows that attempting to down grade another persons qualities below oneself is just down to bolsters one’s usually poor self esteem.

The committee should be composed of anti-war Liberals, pacifists, known America haters, and chaired by Rep Barbara Lee of Berkeley.

Only then could we have confidence it would be properly managed!
