Chavez to United States: ‘Go to Hell!’

Can you guess what I wanted him to do to himself? As Allah said, “He’s got important stuff he needs to do, like confiscating people’s businesses and repealing the presidential term-limits law.”  Keep in mind that he will be able to get away with this because Venezuela’s political opposition has no representation in the National Assembly since it boycotted elections in 2005.  Chavez says an Enabling Law is a key step in what he calls an accelerating march toward socialism.  He has said he wants to see major Venezuelan power and telecoms companies come under state control, as well as scrap limits on the terms a president can serve. .  Mr Chavez also called for an end to foreign ownership of lucrative crude oil refineries in the Orinoco region.   So when the State Department voiced some concerns about this plan,  Chavez reacted to our concerns by saying: “Go to hell, gringos! Go home!”

In typical style, Chavez spoke for hours Sunday during his first appearance on the weekly program in five months. He sent his best wishes to the ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro, his close ally and friend who has been sidelined since intestinal surgery last summer.

Chavez also remarked on the hanging of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein: “They took out Saddam Hussein and they hanged him, for good or worse. It’s not up to me to judge any government, but that gentleman was the president of that country.”

  1. The logical conclusion of “democratic socialism”?

    Totalitarian dictatorship.

  2. Is there really a discerning difference these days between socialism and Communism? Well, maybe Spain.

  3. I wish Hugo Chavez would accompany Castro to Hell, and the sooner the better.

  4. 1- and that’s exactly what it is all about..he is emulating Castro!

  14. Well of course we highly admire and respect President Chavez! He has provided oil for the poor here in the U.S., plus he hates W, and that alone is enough for us to idolize him.

At the rate he is going Chavez may soon approach the legendary status of Fidel Castro, icon of the Left for generations and benevolent leader of the island paradise of Cuba! Where the healthcare is better than anything here, the people beam with happiness, and the only reason so many try to come here is to visit relatives who are not allowed to leave the U.S. to move to Cuba!

  15. Super Idiot,

If the Cuban Health Care was so good, Castro’s operation would not have been botched twice and the Cubans wouldn’t have needed to fly in a Spanish Dr. to try to save him.

On case of Karma coming back to kill a liberal for their sins.

  16. You just don’t understand what is really going on. They didn’t botch anything; it was a Neocon plot to kill Castro that almost succeeded. They tried to make it look like a medical problem and almost got away with it! Michael Moore has all the info.

The Cubans brought the Spanish doctor in because he is a specialist, and of course they want they best experts, wouldn’t you?

It’s always these complicated plots that fail; if they wanted to kill Castro they should have just sent him hunting with Cheney! (Guffaw!!!)

i can see that my insight and superior intellect is wasted on right-wingers.

  24. Super Lib, if you think Communism is so great, give up all your freedoms, possessions, and rights and move to Cuba! Then you’ll be begging you were back in America!

  25. Liberalism is a cousin to Socialism and Communism. I once heard a great saying: “A Socialist is a Communist with no guts”.

IMO the Conservatives who post here are the center, the moderates. Anything left or right of them is extreme.

Well, if that is true then it is fair to say that Conservatism is the cousin of Fascism.

    However, I wouldn’t say either.

As far as socialism goes, all it is is a point between Communism and Capitalism. Wher that point lies can simp,y be measured by how much the citizens are taxed.
