I have always admired Margaret Thatcher. I couldn’t help but admire her for her accomplishments while in office, but she will forever have my respect for the way she honored her friendship with President Reagan on the day of his funeral. For obvious reasons I cringed when I saw that Terry McAuliffe compared her to Mrs. Thatcher:
HILLARY CLINTON is to be presented as America’s Margaret Thatcher as she tries to become the first woman to win the White House. As she entered the 2008 presidential race yesterday, a senior adviser said that her campaign would emphasise security, defence and personal strengths reminiscent of the Iron Lady.
“Their policies are totally different but they are both perceived as very tough,” said Terry McAuliffe, Clinton’s campaign chairman.
Stephen Bainbridge had this to say of the comparison:
You bet their policies are different. Hillary Clinton favors paternalistic big government. As laid out by OnTheIssues.org, her education policy might as well have been drafted by the teachers unions: Testing only for new teachers. No vouchers. Limited parental choice. Opposes tort reform. Federalize health care. Rated 82% positive by the NEA and 85% by the AFL-CIO. Rated a “big spender” by NTU. Anyway, let’s go to the record. When you compare key quotations side-by-side, it becomes clear that Lady Thatcher was all about liberty and prosperity, while Hillary is all about unions, big government, and high taxes and spending.
Thatcher Quote:Â There is no such thing as society: there are individual men and women, and there are families.Clinton Quote: We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.Thatcher Quote: People think that at the top there isn’t much room. They tend to think of it as an Everest. My message is that there is tons of room at the topClinton Quote: Throughout the 1980′s, we did hear too much about individual gain and the ethos of selfishness and greed.Thatcher Quote: I owe nothing to Women’s Lib.Clinton Quote: I’m not some little woman standing by my man like Tammy WynetteThatcher Quote:Â No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he’d only had good intentions”he had money as well.Clinton Quote:Â We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.Thatcher Quote:If you want to cut your own throat, don’t come to me for a bandage.Clinton Quote:Â Children’s lives are not shaped solely by their families or immediate surroundings at large. That is why we must avoid the false dichotomy that says only government or only family is responsible. . . . Personal values and national policies must both play a role.

Hillary thinks she’s the 2nd coming of Christ if not GOD himself.
What would be even worse is that Bill would once again find himself in the WH. That is probably the worst nightmare of all imo. I think that no matter what endorsements she might get the bottom line is that she comes with too much baggage. She’s still married to Bill and that alone is enough to mar any credibility she may have possessed.
I remember Margaret Thatcher, and you, Senator, are no Margaret Thatcher.
HilLiary is evil personified, imo. Perfectly posessed, she offers only acceleration into New World Order Socialism.
Hillary thinks she’s the 2nd coming of Christ if not GOD himself.
Or God “her”self?
She sure would promote socialist values and with a democratic Congress we’d all be paying a steep price. Of course they don’t see it that way. I get a chuckle everytime I hear a Dem say we’ve got to better our economy.
A political forum I post on regularly has had several members drop out almost completely in the past year or so because their (free lance) work is keeping them too busy to spend time online – in this terrible Bush economy!
Hillary = Margaret Thatcher? No way!
6- Great point Susanna:smile: I was talking to a gal yesterday and we were talking about all this free stuff that the left keeps claiming they will offer…I brought up the fact that Hillary said there is no reason a child shouldn’t have health care…I asked what happened to the Medicaid that we have been providing..is this going to be something different? I think not..How about they revamp medicaid and then we can talk about expansion…And as for the unemployment…
How can this country complain about unemployment when we have jobs that Americans won’t do?
7. Or Americans that refuse jobs, any job. I know of at least one
Susanna…I see that kind of thing all the time on all the issues. I have learned to just quietly laugh to myself. It’s easier than getting angry.
Personally, I’m excited about our economy and doing well myself because of it. I also get very nervous when I hear about the strategies of raising taxes and increasing handouts the dems seem to like to say. In the past I have been hurt by these policies and really don’t feel like going down that road again.
“Their policies are totally different but they are both perceived as very tough,”said Terry McAuliffe, Clinton’s campaign chairman.
BonBon: The left could care less about what makes you upset. YOU don’t keep them in power,,, only your hard-earned money does. And they don’t need your permission to take it. It is a socialist dream.
Hi JohnGalt
Nice to see you here! It’s really true about the left not caring. Working around them and having some in the family of that persuasion I have to admit it often seems like they are all talk. They want power, not progress. And they want my money. If only there was a way to see to it they didn’t get it.
Take care of yourself. God Bless.
And CHARLES MANSON had his followers convinced he was CHRIST returned i tell you HILLARY is already practising for her ingogeration and its not 2008 yet:eek:
