I vote for letting him continue with his campaign of two America’s. Personally I can’t think of a better way to divide this country than by claiming we even have two America’s. It’s just a little hard for me to get worked up over the class warfare thing though when the policies his party represents have actually hurt the poor and working class.

But let him go on and with it the demise of any hope for re-election. Most presidential candidates run on the premise of uniting Americans, not dividing them. That alone should secure his demise.

2- The sources can be found in any number of threads in our archives. Look it up. I didn’t say his parent were “well off”, I said they wern’t poor as Edwards portrayed them. He portrayed his dad as the guy that punched the clock and swept floors, hardly the truth. Why did his mom work? For much the same reason that many many women worked in those days..they could and it put extra money in the savings account, because yes they did do that in those days!

Why bring it up? Well because he is running agfain and I would bet we will hear about the 2 Americas again?! Gee that sounds logical

My first question is why today to appraise former Senator John Edwards? Would it be related to the Drudge Report, the Carolina Journal Online and limited bandwidth of hte latter?
Does having wealth preclude one from being altruistic? And do you have a source for his father being plant manager? Even if he was, with 36 years at the mill, it seems doubtful he would have started at that position. If his parents were well off, why did Mom run a store and work at the Post Office?

I know there’s a temptation to scorn politicians, but I haven’t seen much to complain about Edwards yet. Especially when there are so many more worthwhile targets.
