Democratic U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards on Sunday said that he would raise taxes , chiefly on the wealthy, to pay for expanded healthcare coverage under a plan costing $90 billion to $120 billion a year to be unveiled on Monday.
It would expand Medicaid, the state-federal health insurance plan for the needy, and offer subsidies for the uninsured. He said, “We ask employers to play a bigger role, which means they either have to have coverage or they have to buy into what we’re calling health markets.”
So we are raising taxes for entitlement programs? And putting the burden on employers, and the middle class ..sounds like a recipe for recession! I think not!
Speaking of Edwards, did you see the latest on his disaster of a blogmaster?

I wonder if his definition of “rich” will include the middle class, like the Democrites have all along.
If you have two nickels (that the Gov’t didn’t give you) then you’re rich by their definition regarding taxation.
Edwards is another pos that made his fortune by suing others.

Haven’t you heard? Teddy doesn’t have any taxable income other than his Senatorial salary. Isn’t it funny that a man who lives in multimillion dollar homes, rides in limousines, private jets, and sails yachts makes less than most car sales managers that I know? Of course Teddy is first in line when it comes to championing an Estate tax. WHY? Because he lives off of a living trust set up by his bootlegging father. Since the trust is a living trust, it pays all of the operational taxes (property taxes, etc etc) for the Estate, but since the property never officially changes ownership, no estate, income, or gift taxes are paid on its assets. Anytime Teddy wants a new car, the estate buys one and allows him to drive it free of charge. Likewise with any of the Kennedy clan.
What’s the big difference between a Conservative and a Liberal? The Conservative is generous with their own money, Liberals are generous with everybody else’s money.
