Senator Bill Clinton?

By: Pam On: Feb/19/07 - 7 Comments

Isn’t that an example of going backwards in life?  The people quoted are the same people that wanted Bubba to be Mayor of New York, and Secretary General to the UN.

“As a senator, he’d be a knockout,” said Harold Ickes, who was once a top White House aide to Bill Clinton and now gives behind-the-scenes advice to Hillary. “He knows issues, he loves public policy and he’s a good politician.”

“President Clinton would excel in the Senate,” said Paul Begala, who helped Bill Clinton get elected and served in the White House as a top aide.

“Why not?” Begala added. “He excelled as attorney general and governor of Arkansas, he excelled as president and he’s been a model of the modern Senate spouse.”

Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, agreed.

“Clinton is a natural for the Senate,” Sabato said. “He loves to talk and schmooze. He could be a great vote-organizer. Majority Leader Clinton?”

Bubba Clinton is a corrupt SOB that would be sexually harassing the female pages. Think the Democrats would scream, have their activists pop a hit article just before the election on Bill just to punish the Democrats? Ja, right!

Unfortunately, Corruption and Politics is synonymous.

It’s impossible to deny, Clinton was obsessed with combating terrorism.
In this post-9/11 America, we realize the need for this obsession (as well as discretion). My only hope for the ‘08 election, that both parties bring someone to the table with that same drive.

Ben, Clinton did diddly squat to combat terrorism. He turned down Bin Laden served on a silver platter when the evidence that OBL was part of the Trade Tower bombing was sealed by Jaime Gorelick.

According to Bill Clinton on February 15, 2002, Sudan offered Osama bin Laden to the Clinton administration in 1996. “At the time, 1996, [bin Laden] had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America” he said.

Looking back, I don’t think Clinton had the basis, much less the backing at that time to sign into law something similar to the U.S. Patriot Act or a Minority Report(20th Century Fox). Had he known then what he would later find(evidence linking OSB to crimes), perhaps we’d be living in an OSB-Free world today. Or worse yet, a world where our constitutional rights would be taken from us.

5- I agree that he would never have gotten the PA passed, but I sure wish he had tried. In 1998 OBL declared war on us, and the powers that be, knew very well that it was a matter of when, not if, an attack would occur.

I actually can see how Clinton would not have wanted to bring OBL here. With the way our court system is, he knew there wasn’t a snowballs chance in hades of getting a conviction.
