So now, Gore is an expert? Does that mean that the criteria for being considered an expert is really just a joke? Sure looks that way!
Is he an expert because he purchases carbon offsets for the emissions he causes? Hannity accused him of being a limosine liberal that flys from here to there in a private jet.
Al Gore’s office wrote a response prior to Hannity’s investigation:
– Gore lives a strict carbon-neutral lifestyle both in his work and private life. That means he tries to reduce his emissions as much as possible, and then purchases carbon offsets for the remaining emissions.
– In his private life, Gore tries to reduce his emissions as much as possible. He drives a hybrid, flies commercially whenever he can, and purchases green power. In the few instances where work has demanded that he travel privately, he purchases carbon offsets for the emissions.
A carbon offset is a type of income redistribution presented as a service that intends to reduce the net carbon emissions of individuals or organizations indirectly, through proxies who reduce their emissions and/or increase their absorption of greenhouse gases.[1] The intended goal of carbon offsets is to combat global warming.[2]
A wide variety of offset actions are available; tree planting is the most common. Renewable energy and energy conservation offsets are also popular, including emissions trading credits. The appeal of becoming “carbon neutral” has contributed to the growth of voluntary offsets, which often are a more cost-effective alternative to reducing one’s own fossil-fuel consumption

I am considering going into the “Carbon offsets” brokering business. I’ll sign up people in poor third-world countries who do not have SUVs and private jets to sell their credits. Then I’ll resell those those credits to thr rich, to hypocritical assholes like Gore, and to coal-burning and natural-gas burning powerplants in Kalifornia that put almost half of all the CO2 generated in Kali into the atmosphere. That way they can keep doing what they are doing, I’ll get rich, and Boobli-Boobli in Mudville gets an income. And we can all pontificate and blather about how we’re reducing greenhouse gases and fighting Global Warming!!! (when nothing really changed).
But who cares? After all it is really just all about the transfer of a whole lot of money. And the so-called environmental gurus will be positioning themselves to collect as much of it as they can stuff into their pockets.
lemonade stands will be a thing of the past. Kids will set up carbon offsets stands!
