As for a liberal getting within contact range and attacking me in my home, my shooting him would be the least of his worries. He would probably prefer that to all of the other things I have here. I am a medieval reenactor after all, complete with a somewhat large collection of swords, battle axes, maces, etc etc etc.

At contact range a knife inserted into either the front of the pelvis at the top of the leg or into an armpit will stop a fight faster than a bullet virtually anywhere but into the brain. The blood loss from severing the arteries in those locations causes a precipitous drop in blood pressure resulting in VERY rapid loss of consciousness. There are also large nerve bundles in those areas that cause a serious shock to the central nervous system when hit.

BTW can you imagine the look on the police officer’s face when he walked in and found the intruder pinned to the wall with a pike?

When the Chicago suburb of Morton Grove banned the private ownership of firearms in the home in the late 70s, the Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw adopted a law requiring that all home owners own a firearm. Of course unlike the Morton Grove ban wherein everyone was FORCED store their weapons in lockers at the town’s pistol range, Kennesaw homeowners could opt out of the requirement by simply signing an affidavit saying that they didn’t want a gun and they’d be exempted. Violent crime in Morton Grove skyrocketed, while violent crime in Kennesaw fell to record lows. AND HAS STAYED THERE. BTW Morton Grove is frequently lauded for their ordinance while Kennesaw is frequently denounced for theirs. Where would you rather live? Good intentions, or outstanding results?

Which developed country has the LOWEST violent crime rate in the world? Would you believe a country with 3 official languages (hence NOT a homogeneous population)? SWITZERLAND. All adult males are required to serve 2 years in the military for training purposes and then maintain a selective fire assault rifle, and high capacity handgun with basic combat loads for each in their homes until reaching their mid 40s. They also are required to qualify with them annually and state sponsored shooting competitions have stages for competitors as young as 5. 1993 was the last year that I saw the data for, but they had a total of 8 murders in the entire country and those were committed by foreigners who had obtained their firearms illegally to begin with.

Why is it okay that combining Philadelphia and Washington DC ( both of which have very restrictive handgun possession laws) murder rates, more Americans die there than in Iraq annually, but the war is what is being protested rather than the street crime in the major US cities? Isn’t it rather sad that Soldiers dying in a war draws more outrage than a senior citizen being gunned down or beaten to death for her Social Security check?

Statistically, it’s over 40 times as likely that the “someone” in question will be your wife or one of your children.

I think we can all guess. Another example of the mental illness that is Liberalism becoming so acute, so severe as to lead to an incident of violence, which they so fervently claim to oppose.
