Gee maybe we’d have the translators if they hadn’t cut the reenlistment bonuses from $20,000 for interpreters with 10 years experience to only $5000 for a 5 year enlistment during the Clinton years. Gee, I can’t imagine why they’d give up making $35k with a $5k signing bonus versus taking a $70k job in the private sector.
