The Brits were "spying"?

News Flash: EVERYone gathers intelligence all the time. The issue is whether the Brits were in Iranian waters. What they were doing is immaterial.

And they were not in Iranian waters.

"The Science is in, the debate is over!"

Well, KEO the Democratic party has on multiple occasions been supplying information through the NYT to the enemy in the form of leaks. Not to mention Senator Rocekfeller going to the middle east and telling the Syrian and other governments that plans were being made to invade Iraq months before the actual invasion.

Other than McCain, the people making the big stink about wanting to give illegal nonuniformed combatants access to US courts and demanding that they not be strenously interrogated have not been Republicans.

With the Kurds and the Shia being the majority of the population of Iraq versus the minority Sunnis, they would would probably be happy to not be constantly living in fear of their lives from the Sunni run government of their country.

We do both agree that we have to fix Iraq. The difference is that I know that any attempt at negotiations will fail if they are not backed up with the threat of overwhelming military force. I also feel that as the situation continues to stabilize, the Iraqi citizenry will be more forthcoming in helping. Of course, the fact that millions of them turned out to vote on multiple occasions despite death threats may indicate that they are getting the idea that we are there to help them. There is also the fact that tipline calls have been growing exponentially.

71, KEO, you are uninformed, yet pontificate authoritively. You dismiss data you don't already have and when presented with data you don't have, you do not pause to assimilate it. That makes you an a**hole and not worth dealing with.

71-The unrest in the ME? What drugs are you smoking? When has there been sustained peace in that region of the world? Every agreement made in the last 30 years has been broken before the hands were shook...please! Maybe it is time for you to actually research the subject.

the entire pacifist/ anti war movement may seem so utopian, it simply isn't practical to believe that just because you lay down and roll over, the bad guys aren't going to keep kicking you.

We are in a fight in the middle east, we need to finish it. If we walk away like we did in Somalia, we'll have them knocking on our door again.

For the record, I have no idea how we are going to clean up this mess called Operation Iraqi Freedom. I will, however, suggest that we somehow set aside our difference and work out a plan, and REAL SOON!!!

Further, I do not believe that, if asked, the vast majority of Iraqi citizens would be pleased with our decision to "free them." Not for one minute.

a political party trying to undermine your military and intelligence communities by passing classified information to the enemy and actively working to hamstring the troops in their efforts with idiotic Politically correct combat restrictions.

This I agree with comletely. Although, I hope that your not accusing any American political party of purposely sharing military inteligence with the enemy. The closest thing to that notion was Geraldo's news coverage during the initial "exciting" stages of the war.

We have drastically contributed to the unrest in the Middle East. My only hope is that we can solve this problem before it devours us whole.

Well the US has evidence of Iranian operatives in Iraq providing technical and material support to the terrorists in Iraq. Even one of the Main stream media outlets reported that IED components had been traced back to Iran. The fact that the British sailors and marines wer in Iraqi waters with Iraqi permission has been confirmed by the Iraqi government. What I find more troubling is the fact that the British warship that these sailors and marines were stationed on was not allowed to fire on the Iranian ships despite outgunning them by a substantial margin. A historical example of Iran violating international laws concerning international waters would be their attempt to mine the Persian Gulf in order to disrupt the oil flow through it in the mid to late 80s. The US Navy sent them running for Iranian waters the first time they caught the Iranians mining operation, and shot it full of holes the second time. There was no third attempt. Dictators and thugs understand nothing better than the use of force, and frequently little else. While the entire pacifist/ anti war movement may seem so utopian, it simply isn't practical to believe that just because you lay down and roll over, the bad guys aren't going to keep kicking you. I haven't been in very many fights. I was raised to not start fights, but when one is forced on you to finish it. I've never had to fight the same person twice. I've never had to hurt anyone, but I've let them know that if they started another fight with me, I would put them into either a cast or a casket. With the way that almost all of my fights have ended, they knew it wasn't an idle threat.

We are in a fight in the middle east, we need to finish it. If we walk away like we did in Somalia, we'll have them knocking on our door again. It's really sad that the Ethiopian Army managed to overrun the Muslim extremists in Somalia and chase them out of the country. Of course that's what happens when you don't have a political party trying to undermine your military and intelligence communities by passing classified information to the enemy and actively working to hamstring the troops in their efforts with idiotic Politically correct combat restrictions.

Please do some research with experts on radical Islam and international terrorism. Don't believe what the Dems are saying about if we leave they won't attack us again. That is NOT what the experts are saying.

btw, ignore PCD's insulting ranting! Just a word of advice from one of your terror-state loving butt-buddies who runs down the US at every opportunity and probably should move to Iran because I love it so much.

Thanks TT, I really needed that!

As much as I've trained myself through the years, I have to admit that I do fall victim to the irrational at times. Yet another life lesson. -Don't end up like PCD!
