News Flash: EVERYone gathers intelligence all the time. The issue is whether the Brits were in Iranian waters. What they were doing is immaterial.

Other than McCain, the people making the big stink about wanting to give illegal nonuniformed combatants access to US courts and demanding that they not be strenously interrogated have not been Republicans.

With the Kurds and the Shia being the majority of the population of Iraq versus the minority Sunnis, they would would probably be happy to not be constantly living in fear of their lives from the Sunni run government of their country.

We do both agree that we have to fix Iraq. The difference is that I know that any attempt at negotiations will fail if they are not backed up with the threat of overwhelming military force. I also feel that as the situation continues to stabilize, the Iraqi citizenry will be more forthcoming in helping. Of course, the fact that millions of them turned out to vote on multiple occasions despite death threats may indicate that they are getting the idea that we are there to help them. There is also the fact that tipline calls have been growing exponentially.

We are in a fight in the middle east, we need to finish it. If we walk away like we did in Somalia, we’ll have them knocking on our door again.

For the record, I have no idea how we are going to clean up this mess called Operation Iraqi Freedom. I will, however, suggest that we somehow set aside our difference and work out a plan, and REAL SOON!!!

Further, I do not believe that, if asked, the vast majority of Iraqi citizens would be pleased with our decision to “free them.” Not for one minute.

This I agree with comletely. Although, I hope that your not accusing any American political party of purposely sharing military inteligence with the enemy. The closest thing to that notion was Geraldo’s news coverage during the initial “exciting” stages of the war.

We have drastically contributed to the unrest in the Middle East. My only hope is that we can solve this problem before it devours us whole.

Please do some research with experts on radical Islam and international terrorism. Don’t believe what the Dems are saying about if we leave they won’t attack us again. That is NOT what the experts are saying.
