In what came off as more bizarre rant than heartfelt apology, her supposed “very last blog entry” called her years of journalism a “shoddy,” “despicable” and “irresponsible” career as a “fourth-rate hack.” Her political stance? All a mistake.
The fiery, unwavering supporter of George W. Bush supposedly said she’d done a complete 180 in the past year and was now an implied supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y. What was even more perplexing was that “Seipp” was taking mean-spirited potshots at her own daughter, Maia Lazar, whom she called an “obnoxious” and “arrogant” wanna-be “skank” who was “mentally ill.” Throughout the letter, the one person whom “Seipp” seemed most sorry for ever having offended was Maia’s 10th-grade journalism teacher, who had frequently clashed with mother and daughter. Finally, “Seipp” said she was probably to blame for her own illness — the “venom” she’d spewed for years was responsible for her terminal cancer.

This is just so despicable. I may not like liberals like Penn, Babs, Reiner, etc., but I don’t wish them a horrible death, and I’d never think to blame them for it unless it was suicide.

This is really sad. After Edwards wife came out and announced her cancer I said to a lib that I hoped no conservatives made fun of it. None did and I was assured real liberals didn’t act that way. Then Tony Snow came out and of course we have this. Disgusting, nauseating, infuriating.

11, SFL,I know Fred Phelps hates you, but in your BDS you need to focus your reaction on Phelps’ group, not your political enemies. If you would look at these funerals, Phelps’ group is kept at bay by a motorcycle group that are patriots and vets. YOu can bet that I’ll be there guarding a funeral and drag my car club along.

BTW San Fran, I agree with you that individuals on both sides of the political can be pretty shitty to others. The big difference from my perspective is how their side responds to their vitriol. While Conservatives try to distance themselves from their more radical individuals, the left not only embraces them and their views, they congratulate and reward them.
Conservatives, as a whole, would never say that everyone must own a gun and there will be no exceptions, but liberals frequently support the position that NOONE should be allowed to have one and there will be know exceptions. That is the difference. It’s not that either side is flawless, only the way in which they react to their own radical members.
