David Geffen Won’t Support Hillary Because Bubba Wouldn’t Pardon A G-Man Killing Indian Named Peltier
But he did pardon Marc Rich, a used to be regular fixture of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List. But alas, that wasn’t good enough for Geffen, because he wanted Leonard Peltier pardoned! What better example of the left’s desire to make a martyr of criminals, than Peltier:
He became a rallying cry for centuries of oppression against his people, one of America’s most potent political symbols. But now, 20 years(32 years as of this posting)Â after the murder of two FBI agents that put him in prison for life, he’s more important as a legend than as a man, and the legend has begun to unravel.
Here are 2 examples of what people go by when they say Peltier was set up:
1. There is no proof that Leonard Peltier actually shot the two agents. The U.S. prosecutor admitted to the Court of Appeals that this could not be proved. Peltier denies it and says that he neither shot at the agents or saw the killing. The author Peter Matthiessen has interviewed a man who says he did the actual shooting and who says Peltier wasn’t there at the time.
2. There is no evidence that Peltier actually aided and abetted the killer, or that he knew who it was until later. (Peltier refuses to identify the person he thinks did the actual killing.) Peltier may have participated in the shooting that wounded the agents and certainly did help a number of people, perhaps knowingly including the killer, escape. On conviction for offences arising from those acts, he would not be in prison today, according to legal experts.
And here is what Peltier had to say for himself:
“I was there that day,” Peltier says. “I’ve never denied that. But we were attacked, and we had a right to defend ourselves, and so I fired back. And that right there is where my life was ruined.”
