Michael Moore’s latest propaganda piece, set to be distributed by the Weinstein Co., is supposed to be about how the U.S. health-care system is inferior to Fidel Castro’s socialized medicine, but as one of those screwed over by Moore said, “What he [Moore] wanted to do is shove it up George W’s rear end that 9/11 heroes had to go to a communist country to get adequate health care,” said McCormack, who suffers from chronic respiratory illness.
Moore promised to take McCormack, but something better came along:
“It’s the ultimate betrayal,” he said. “You’re promised that you’re going to be taken care of and then you find out you’re not. He’s trying to profiteer off of our suffering.”
Â
Moore’s publicist did not return calls from The Post. But McCormack played a tape for The Post of a telephone conversation between himself and a Moore producer. The woman is heard apologizing for not taking McCormack, while saying the production company was not offering anyone guarantees of a cure.
“Even for the people that we did bring down to Cuba, we said we can promise that you will be evaluated, that you will get looked at,” said the woman. “We can’t promise that you will get fixed.”
Â
Participants in the Cuba trip were forced to sign a confidentiality agreement prohibiting them from talking about the project, the sources said.
Travel to Cuba is severely restricted from the United States, but Moore’s crew was granted access, the producer told McCormack, through a “general license that allows for journalistic endeavors there.”
Â
Some called the trip a success, at least logistics-wise.
“From what I heard through the grapevine, those people that went are utterly happy,” said John Feal, who runs the Fealgood Foundation to help raise money for responders and was approached by Moore to find responders willing to take the trip.
“They got the Elvis treatment.”
Of course they got special treatment, the cameras were rolling. How many Cubans were brushed aside for Moore’s game? If the trips taken by these people are showing signs of success, why not get the dialogue going now? Oh, that’s right, he needs to make his money first!Â

One would think that trying to sell the notion that Cuban socialized health care is better than what we have is an impossible task. But Moore has shown with his previous Crockumentaries that it is indeed possible and profitable to peddle lies to gullible idiots.
Moore is another degenerate, who, if he choked on a piece of pizza and died tomorrow, I would shed no tears for.
He sure does like to stir things up, doesn’t he?!
Register Michael Moore, not guns.
SFL, YOu sure monica liars like Moore.
Michael Moore ought to have been barred from returning to this country. Leave nim in Cuba.
c’mon, we see hundreds of Americans daily risking their lives trying to swim to Cuba. It must truly be a heaven on Earth….um, do I have that backwards?
If libs like Cuba so much and thinks their healthcare system is so great, why aren’t they all flooding to Havana for their annual checkups and plastic surgery?
If libs like Cuba so much and thinks their healthcare system is so great, why aren’t they all flooding to Havana for their annual checkups and plastic surgery?
It’s kind of far, and it can be a little tricky to get to.
Incidentally, Cuba also has a much higher literacy rate than the U.S.
as well as a lower infant mortality rate. This doesn’t make it a utopia, but clearly they’re doing something right…
Yes- like exagerating and misreporting their numbers.
Amazing to me that folks are gulible enough to take these stats as face value.
Moore as already been proven to use less than reliable “facts” in his “documentaries”. He has already been marginalized, so I pretty much see him as a non-factor in both a political and a factual sense.
If Micheal Muttonhead Moore thinks busy whiskers castro is so great why dont he just go and live with him he could be the Joseph Gobbels of cuba making all those left-wing propeganda films:razz::idea:
#9 Ted I can’t say with confidence that Moore has been marginalized to the point he’s a non-factor. There are plenty of dopes out there who paid to see F9/11 and still believe it.
Among rational, logical, reasonable people who have the ability to think for themselves Moore’s propaganda has been debunked. Unfortunately they are not the majority.
btw anyone whp paid good money to see Farenhype 9/11 is arguably a dope, unless it was expresly for the prupose of critiqueing it. I waited until it came on free tv to see it.
I LMAO’d at the sophomoric way it was put together. It looked like some high school kid’s class project.
Re 11:
“Among rational, logical, reasonable people who have the ability to think for themselves Moore’s propaganda has been debunked. Unfortunately they are not the majority.”
I disagree. Even among the majority of my Dem friends, he is looked upon as tarnished. He is viewed as being on the fringe by them. Even on some of the Dem sites I’ve visited, they distance themselves from him. mostly, the only reason some liberals like him is becasue he seems to drive conservatives nuts.
Re 14:
I watched the movie when some friends of mine rented it. I sat there wayching it, and would then pause and debunk the claims for them.
8. Yes- like exagerating and misreporting their numbers.
There’s a possibility of this with the infant mortality rates because I’ve only heard of a couple studies that have provided anything like outside verification. As far as the literacy rates go, there’ve been dozens of studies and Cuba’s methods have been picked up on by a few Latin American countries. Here’re the statistics from the CIA world factbook. Though I suppose they could be falsifying their numbers….
Amazing to me that folks are gulible enough to take these stats as face value.
Depressing that people are so horrified by the prospect of a socialist country succeeding that they turn a blind eye to policies that could work here.
Not that Cuba is any sort of utopia; incidentally, the same NGOs who’ve criticized Cuba in the past for its human rights violations have now condemned the US as well. Strange bedfellows…
Depressing that people are so horrified by the prospect of a socialist country succeeding that they turn a blind eye to policies that could work here.
If the care is so wonderful and and the infant mortality rate is so low, why are there so many fleeing such a free country? As I mentioned about a month ago, the Cuban that I spoke to gave me a lesson on healthcare in Cuba, as well as the stats we are being given….AKD, the figures that the CIA and other governments get are from Cuban officials. The stats given are for the cities in Cuba we are shown in the photos…we don’t see all that once fertile land and towns, that is now a countryside of poverty. We see what Castro wants us to see. Are the figures we get representative of the entire population or are they stats of towns such as Havana?
Depressing that people are so horrified by the prospect of a socialist country succeeding that they turn a blind eye to policies that could work here.
Don’t want no socialism not no way not no how…
