The local community colleges board of regents got a slap down today. The Governor signed a law saying that they are not allowed to ban the campus security officers, who have gone through the same training as municipal police officers, from carrying firearms as part of their daily duties. She claimed to have been surprised to find out that the board of regents for the local community colleges network, had banned their campus police officers from being armed on duty. Once again, let’s all run to those places with “defenseless unarmed victims’ zone” errr I mean “Weapons free Zone” signs.

It may be peanuts to people who have been raised with the culture that the gun at your home is just another tool like the lawn mower, but at the continent on which I live assaults that are done with bare fists or even a knife still play in another league than those that are done with a firearm.

A whacko (or a Muslim terrorist) driving a large vehicle can plow into a crowd in a city and do more damage than someone with a gun. It actually happened here.

Let’s ban Muslim whackos driving SUVs…

I heard John Lott interviewed on the radio last night and he debunked, refuted, put to rest, cruhed every known anti-gun rights argument.

There are no credible arguments left for the anti-2nd Amendment crowd. But that won’t stop them. They’ll just keep recycling the already-refuted ones.

That is just as likely a scenerio as your claim.

Professor Lott’s study has already established there is no empirical link between the amount of violent crime in a society and the amount of gun restriction laws it has. Your data doesn’t even establish that.

It’s amazing how easily you’re able to just brush off over 14,000 dead people. All you’ve proven is that there are over 14,000 examples of where your strict gun laws didn’t work. Saying it’s ok because nobody’s perfect is atrocious.

Did you also read that it’s illegal to have weapons on campus? I guess the psycho just failed to read the campus rules thoroughly. Another case of gun laws not working.

How does this demonstrate this? First off if taking the figures at face value as you are, they have little to no impact on the amount of aggravated assaults committed. Secondly, even if somehow there was a correlation between the figures (which there aren’t) then there is no empirical proof that is the cause.

In simple terms- it is scientific fact that correlation does not equal causation.
