I don't know about the Univ. Of Phoenix, but I know that the Az state government buildings and a number of schools throughout the Phoenix area received threats.

A number of students were actually arrested last night after they were implicated in a number of burglaries at their high school that included a computer and printer for printing Identification cards and one burglary that included raiding the science dept storage room for a number of chemicals including, Ammonium Nitrate! For those who are chemically challenged, Ammonium Nitrate is used in fertilizer so it's not uncommon, but when properly mixed with diesel fuel or fuel oil it makes the explosive AMFO. This is the explosive that Timothy McVey used to demolish the Murra (sp) federal building in Oklahoma City 12 years ago yesterday.

Sorry to hear that Ted and I hope your daughter's ok. I also heard the Univ of Phoenix had a bomb scare just as they were ringing the bells in memory of the VA Tech victims. This is why I was disgusted with the airplay this guy was getting. It brings out the crazies, glorifies the perpetrator, forgets the victims and their families and desensitizes society to this evil. Hell, if you get right down to it, half the US population is already desensitized to evil. Just look at how many of them don't want to engage in fighting terrorism. Pathetic.

Back on topic, this man has a story that makes him heroic but I would offer that all the victims were heroes that day just by virtue of the fact they were students whose purpose was to learn and to hopefully someday make a positive impact on society.

Today. my daughter's middle school was shut down and extra cirricular activities canceled due to a gun threat sent in to the school.

Thanks NBC for promoting this activity by airing this crap.

"Librescu worked as an engineer at Romania's aerospace agency under the postwar Communist government, his son recounted, but his career was stymied in the 1970s because he refused to swear allegiance to the regime. He was later fired when he requested permission to move to Israel."

"After years of government refusal, according to his son, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin personally intervened to get the family emigration permits. They moved to Israel in 1978."

This seems to be the sort of man who understood- you don't just passively sit there and let evil takes its course, but you confront it and do what you can to stop or slow it down. Perhaps that came with the experience of being a Holcaust survivor, and unfortunately I think most Americans today just don't get that.
