Great site and a worthy cause so I am gladly presenting it to all of you!

Pansies for Reid Day
Pansies

Let’s face it, Harry Reid has been a complete pansy on all fronts regarding America and her will to win the war on terrorism. Specifically, the war in Iraq.

With this in mind, we feel the need to launch a national “Pansies for Reid Day” campaign at which time we will bombard the Senator’s offices with Pansies and letters from supporters of our cause.

This day will not be made public until the morning it happens to avoid having moles damage the outcome. However, we can say it will happen sometime during the month of May.

The way this will work is we will have an address that you can use to purchase Pansies on any flower ordering site and have them delivered to. We will then personally deliver these pansies to Harry Reids offices, along with a letter that contains the name of each participant. We’ll be accompanied by media and video cameras so that the event can be documented via the internet.

The chances are high that Reid will not be present to accept the delivery, however, the point will have been made once the delivery into his offices has been completed.

The full details of this campaign will be released in our next newsletter so please stay tuned!

You can also follow the campaign on the official page.

Greetings!

The official Oppose Harry Reid Project is up and running and we’re happy to announce we’re now moving forward with several campaigns aimed at generating awareness.

This first newsletter will give you an idea of what we’re up to. After this one you’ll be receiving at least one newsletter per week. We’ll try and keep you as up to date as possible.

If you have any questions or comments, please use our website contact page.

Warm Regards,
Eric Odom

Oppose Reid Bumper Stickers

Jcrue has been busy getting bumper stickers on the site and ready for purchase. If you haven’t ordered yours, get on over to the store and pick up a few.

Current slogans:
-Harry Reid does not speak for this Nevadan
-This Veteran wants Reid to Resign
-Hey, Pinky! How about listening to Nevada for a change?
-Harry, you do not work for Pelosi’s constituents
-Dachle First, Reid Next

Proceeds from sticker sales will go back into making the site bigger and better.

ORDER NOW

Get Involved

The Oppose Reid Project grew much quicker than anyone anticipated. This is a good thing, but comes at a price. Currently there are two of us running the show. A few folks here in Nevada have asked to come on board, and I plan on meeting with them this week, but until that happens we are but a pair of full time employed citizens volunteering for this effort.

We want to build the project into a large scale organization, but it will take time and a winning team of committed volunteers to make it happen. Have no doubts, we need help.

The following is a list of areas within our organization where help is immediately needed. Keep in mind that we always give credit where credit is due. If you decide to join us in helping with one or more of the volunteer positions listed below, we will list your name/website in all materials we publish. Once you’re a part of the team, we’ll make sure it is known that you’re helping us win.

-Bloggers
Our aim with the new blog is to keep it populated with up to date information regarding Harry Reid. We want the blog to be published with new content every day. This is not as easy at it sounds. In fact, it’s rather time consuming to say the least.

We’re looking for about five level headed bloggers who can log in a couple times a week and post interesting news regarding Senator Harry Reid. You don’t have to be a professional writer (God knows we aren’t), but you do need to have an internet background so that we can check to make sure you aren’t a “mole” and you should be able to write in clear and understandable English. You’ll also need to commit at least five posts per week.

Experience with Wordpress blogging software is a plus.

-Programmers/Coders (Wordpress, phpBB, vBulletin)
We wish to eventually tie all of our site sections together and create one theme for the entire website. This takes either A) A lot of coding experience, or B) Money. We have neither.
If you can donate some time to help us out in this area it would be greatly appreciated

-Newsletter Maintenance
We predict an explosive newsletter campaign to kick off in the very near future. The amount of e-mails we’ll need to manage is going to be a daunting task. While we’re looking at several e-mail campaign software options, we would like to keep a backup on our own servers of all e-mails, list subscribers, and volunteers. Help in managing this dat is badly needed and would not at all require a lot of time.

-Oppose Reid Campaigns
These campaigns offer a great way to get involved with the project. From sending Pansy flowers to Harry Reid to putting our blogroll code on your website, there is no shortage of opportunities to get active.

Check out our current Oppose Harry Reid Campaigns.

If you would like to get involved at any of the above levels please drop me a line ASAP. eric@opposereid.com

We Win, They Lose

Greetings!
The following letter is being sent to Harry Reid. Please read and visit the petition page to sign it here

To: Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House
Harry Reid, U.S. Senate Democrat LeaderCongress has passed and President Bush has vetoed H.R. 1591, the Iraq Surrender Act of 2007.

This legislation, which you worked to pass, sets a timetable for surrender. It pulls the rug out from under our troops. That is shameful and wrong.

Your actions have already emboldened the enemy. Violent jihadists now know that the elected leadership of Congress would undermine the troops by holding their funding hostage to demands for surrender.

This Congress would bring us back to the dark days of the 1970s, when the world doubted our staying power. Except only much worse. Withdraw in April 2008, and on May 1, Iraq becomes an unchecked den of terrorism at the heart of the Middle East — a new base for the same people that struck our homeland on September 11th.

I stand with our troops. I stand for victory. I support the President’s veto and will urge my representatives to vote to sustain it.

There can be one and only one outcome in Iraq: We win, they lose.

Eric Odom

Consider me onboard. I also intend to head downtown next week and sit in on a session. I may wander over to the Hart Senate Building and see if I can gain entry. I called their office today and the staffer was clueless. I had to ask her if I did in fact reach Reids office. Doubt she sent my message along but we’ll see.

So, what does being gay (which Harry Reid isn’t anyway, I don’t know where you got that) have to do with being a functioning politition? Homophobia is one of the most childish forms of bullying and discrimination, almost like the middle school way of pointing at a nerd and screaming “Weirdo!” and beating the kid up. You are not who you date, in no way shape or form, and a husband and wife (or husband and husband, or wife and wife) are seperated by a fine line, making the couple two seperate entities.

Yes. It would appear so by the stereotypes run rampant on this site.

  22. FrmrArtyOffcr Says:
    22

Pansy is a euphemism for a spineless coward. Just because a higher percentage of homosexual males exhibit the tendency to be more effeminate doesn’t make them any more of a pansy than straight men who are spineless cowards. Hell, I have more respect for the openly gay men than the straight spineless cowards. They’re going to go through a lot more hell in life than the straight pansies. It’s not right that they are going to be discriminated against, it’s just a fact that ill educated homophobes are out there and some of the radical Christian preachers inflame those passions. Funny thing about that is, didn’t Jesus say to love your brother as yourself? I don’t recall him specifying that love only applied to straight people. For that matter the abrasive, obnoxious gay activists aren’t doing the gay movement any favors either. Acceptance of any behaviour outside of the status quo has to be developed incrementally. It has to evolve. Biracial couples simply were not seen on the streets in the south 50 years ago. Now, almost noone thinks twice about it.

As far as I can tell, the stereotyping is coming from the libs. I judge people on their actions. If I call someone a moron or a coward, it’s because they have shown themselves to be either lacking in historical knowledge and logical thought process, or courage. They are either thinking on a shallow level without historical perspective, or they continually espouse ideas that indicate an inordinate level of fear.

  23. Aryeh Says:
    23

So, now you’re insulting gays by being cowards because they have the stregnth to be themselves, even if it’s different, and you’re insulting women by connecting being effeminate with being cowardly?

Aryeh, you have to understand that I am a logical CONSTITUTIONALIST. If the Democrats were making logical arguments and following the Constitution and the Republicans were not, I’d favor the Dems. However, the Dems are not following the Constitution and their logic is poor at best. Their actions weaken this country and make it more vulnerable to attack. They have followed this course of action since the Carter administration.

Carter and the Democratic Congress gutted our intelligence gathering capability with the FISA Act and the Church Commission. By signing the FISA act, Carter abrogated much of his power as Commander in Chief in relation to intelligence gathering. The Executive order that Carter issued banning the payment of monies to intelligence sources who were involved in human rights violations was stupid. It eliminated many of the foreign human intelligence sources the CIA and other intelligence agencies had cultivated in the years following WWII. Carter et al, were too short sighted or shallow in their thinking to understand that human intelligence sources need to be inside of an organization to be most effective. Therefore they are probably not going to be choir boys. I understood how idiotic this manuever was when it was announced and I was in my early teens.

Congress demanding a time table for withdrawal/ or making demands on the Iraqi government are also both bad ideas and in violation of the separation of powers doctrine of the Constitution. Congress does not have the power to dictate either military policy or foreign policy to the President. Under the Constitution they may withhold funds entirely, but they may not dictate how the military uses the operational funds. They can dictate major purchases such as aircraft, but they can not demand that funds be used to withdraw troops by a given date as to do so would interfere with the President’s authority as Commander in Chief. To dictate benchmarks to the Iraqi government is also overstepping the limits of their power because the negotiation of treaties is constitutionally assigned to the President.

Let me give you the logic as to why both of these conditions that the Democrats are trying to force down the President’s throat are bad ideas. By demanding that we withdraw our troops by a given date, they are telling the enemy that as long as they hang on until that date, the country is theirs and Osama Bin Laden was right when he said we’d cut and run should casualties rise. This would be a HUGE morale booster and aid recruiting for Al Quaeda. The demanding of benchmarks for the Iraqi government is a bad idea because it makes it far too easy for Al Quaeda to simply ratchet up attacks immediately before any benchmark deadline to insure that the Iraqi government does not meet the benchmark. This would then allow Al Quaeda to claim that their attacks had resulting in causing us to run away. Again this would be a HUGE recruiting boost for Al Quaeda. What a lot of liberals seem to fail to understand is that people are far more likely to join a winning side than a losing side and as long as the dems keep telling the wannabe terrorists that they’re winning, they’ll keep joining the fight against us. If the US would take a united stance of “You can run, but you can’t hide” and plaster the photos of every terrorist leader we’ve captured or killed in the last 4 years all over the press, the terrorists would have a lot more trouble recruiting new members. It’s called Psyops and we’re losing that part of the war thanks to the Dems and the MSM. We’ve killed over 22,000 terrorists, but that never gets played in the MSM and when it is mentioned, they are portrayed as innocent civilians even when though they are not. Al Quaeda is being portrayed as the epitome of virtue and every one of our military members are being portrayed as liars unless they’re whining about actually doing what they contracted to do.
