US casinos have so many cameras in them that it is almost Orwellian. You may never know exactly which ones are turned on you, but if you're on casino property and not in a hotel or restroom, you're on a camera. The ability to record everything digitally has made it possible for the casinos to install even more cameras since they no longer have to warehouse VHS tapes for the thousands of cameras a large casino will hold. I'm guessing it was probably either a disgruntled gambler wanting to get even with a dealer or pit boss, or a disaffected spouse going after someone their spouse was having a fling with on the side.
