Iraq Surge is Costing the Soldiers Sleep
Soldiers in war zones have always had to function on little or no sleep. Thats nothing new. But with the new surge in Iraq our Soldiers are functioning with less and less sleep.

James Earl Carter, a man who could barely manage the schedule for the White House Tennis Courts. A man who so starved the military that when he needed them most, their maintenance shortedchanged equipment failed the mission. A man who barely escaped a “Killer Rabbit”, and dumb enough to document it in his Presidental Library, dares to cast any aspersions upon any President? Only a desperate, biased press would bother with this fool. Leave him with a hammer, nails, and SOMEONE ELSE’S PLAN TO FOLLOW, because that is all he is capable of.

Not a very original comment on my part, but have you noticed it is former Democrat Presidents that have the biggest mouths and can’t seem to contain themselves when it comes to judgments like this?

We’re supposed to take the office seriously, but this guy gives it a real bad name.

Can’t remember the last time Bill C. opened his mouth like this, but at least it wasn’t while he was in the continental U.S….well I guess that’s not such a good idea either.

    More than irrelevant!!!

Let’s allow BonBon to reply, shall we (”liberals” changed to “conservatives”):

[Conservatives]love an anything goes attitude where everyone can say and do as they please EXCEPT when they say something [conservatives] don’t like. When they hold an opinion that differs from their own. And then they are mean as snot.

    Here’s another from BonBon:

We believe in free speech no matter how much we might disagree with it or even be offended by it. Free speech is what this country is made of. Get over it.

    Here’s one from Ted:

While I don’t agree with most of what he has said, I feel I have little moral high ground to critique the man as others in this thread.

I would take the bet that the man has done more good in the world than the folks disparaging him in this thread.

    and another from Ted:

Don’t you think how your are demonizing him here is just as bad if not worse than some of the things he has done? Is there really a difference? I don’t think so.

I guess they sure told you PCD!!!

    How Crazy Is This?
The proposed immigration bill has got me thinking about what really to do about this problem.
    Step 1. Seal the border.
This seems obvious. If the sink is overflowing the first thing to do is to turn off the tap. How is a problem but not an unsolvab…

  9. BonBon Says:
    9

Well now he’s saying he was misinterpreted. Whatever. He certainly has the right to say what he says but we all know he breaks traditional protocol where former presidents generally do not criticize sitting presidents. Be that as it may we also know he is anti Israel and anti jew and 14 members of his Carter Center resigned in protest.

Yeah, says alot the man. FYI AKD, for awhile there (before the book) I was willing to give an old man the benefit of the doubt that he was going senile. With the book, his comments, and the fact that 14 people resigned his Center I’ve had second thoughts.

The mans an ass and that doesn’t even cover his time in office.

3, AKD, you arrogant ass. Those people can speak very well for themselves. Only an ignoramus who is insecure in their own arguments pulls the stunt you did, and that is purely what it was a stunt. You are not interested in discussion, but you are a pissant looking for fights in which you won’t get physically hurt. What a pathetic creature you are.

    The Eyes of Our Soldiers
I have found myself frequently looking at some pictures my son sent me a few weeks ago. He is a front line combat Soldier in the Global War on Terrorism. He wrote a nice note in an email and attached a few pictures for me. He knows I like to see him….

4- Bon Bon, that is the crux of the issue. Carter was horrible for the country while in office and continues to be bad for us after…In hindsight, I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised he is saying tuff like this!

  15. BonBon Says:
    15

Hey Peejz….I well remember Carter’s administration. It was a horrible time. I was just starting out at the time and couldn’t get anywhere. Interest rates on home mortages were 23-25% and that was just the beginning. When Iran took American hostages and he sat back on his ass and did nothing I was disgusted. I was so happy when Reagan came along.

All in all I think it was a blessing that he didn’t get elected a second term. THAT alone speaks for itself.

I always chuckle at the fact that Carter got the nomination over Teddy:shock:

    Gay Pink Flamingos Adopt Chick

  18. San Francisco Liberal Says:

Regardless of Carters own ranking on the list of good to bad presidents, he was right about Bush.

G.W. Bush will most likely go down as one of the worst presidents in our history, and his actions in Iraq and elsewhere have done more damage to America and our allies than any other president has.

We should have had President Gore. We’d all be so much better off…

You know, Carter was and is a born-again Christian.

I thought that counted for something with you people.

    I guess not.

I doubt having higher taxes, expanded welfare programs, unresponded to and hence recurring terrorist attacks, idiotic global warming legislation, a depleted and demoralized military, and a 5+ year recession would make any of us better off SFL, but you can think what you want.

Of course if unemployment in this country gets high enough, (double digits like it was under the Carter administration) the Illegals will be more likely to stay home, so there might have been at least that as an upside to a Gore victory.

  22. FrmrArtyOffcr Says:
    22

Bon Bon, you left out a few other jewels in the crown of the Carter Administration. Double Digit interest rates, double digit unemployment, and double digit inflation. He gutted the US Intelligence gathering capability around the world, and abrogated his responsibility and authority here at home when he signed the FISA act into law.

As for him getting the nomination over Teddy, that was a no brainer. Mary Jo Kopechne and the way that Ted the Swimmer left her to die was still reasonably fresh in people’s minds because it was under 10 years old at the time. As much of a hero as John was and Bobby could’ve been, Teddy never really measured up to his older brothers, except perhaps to their combined girth.

Honestly I can remember the Carter campaign and even at 13 was aghast at what he was saying. I just kept saying, “He can’t do that, that’s not Constitutional.” or “If he does what he’s saying, we’re going to be in a world of trouble.” Luckily for us, Dad worked for a coal mine owned by a power company. They didn’t shut down the mine, but it was pretty tough when it came contract time and the miners went out on strike.

FAO…I shudder when I think of those times. Short of the Clinton tax hikes they were the worst period of my life. Upon reflection I realize that Carter did so much more damage than any other president which is why it’s almost comical that now he would be saying the things he is.

Personally I have seen Teddy as a progressively blathering idiot who knew beyond a doubt that he had blew his chances of ever becoming president that night. Why oh why the residents of MA keep electing him is anybodys guess.

Stay cool….I always love reading your posts.
