The bitchfight between Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck officially went nuclear — and we mean nuclear — on this morning’s “The View,” and it’s a miracle, frankly, that fists didn’t fly.
As usual, Rosie and Elisabeth started in on one another on the topic of Iraq, but it quickly got personal when Rosie, clearly still miffed that Elisabeth hadn’t defended her over the whole soldiers-as-terrorists fracas, demanded to know whether Hasselbeck really thought Rosie felt that US soldiers were terrorists, “as my friend, since September.” When Elisabeth didn’t give her a yes-or-no answer, the verbal fisticuffs began in earnest. In fact, producers saw fit to go split-screen, just to amp up the volume.
Name-calling ensued, with Rosie calling Elisabeth “cowardly,” and Elisabeth spitting back at Ro that she’s not “poor little Elisabeth,” even smacking down guest co-host Sherri Shepherd’s suggestion that she chill for the sake of her unborn child, saying, “The baby’s FINE.”
Joy Behar — not at all wisecracking and with not inconsiderable exasperation — asked, “Who’s directing this show?! We need a commercial break! What is this, PBS?”
Elizabeth Puts The Mouth In Her Place!

Remember when they used MARTHA RAYE in that POLIDENT ad and she said TAKE IT FROM A BIG MOUTH yeah biut MARTHA RAYE was funneir:razz:
who cares
ABC, another cabal of traitors. Only Hasselbeck has some brains on that show. O’Dumbass ought to be shipped to Iran. Put her beheading on TV.
PCD – You hit the nail on the head! I would love to see what Iran would do with Rosie. I don’t think Rosie would make much money as a comedian over in Turbanville!!!!! She is beyond clueless. Why does she have the airtime she has, she is a psycho Lesbian!!!!
Hmmm….I honestly find both of these women to be extremely obnoxious and rude. Neither one of them has EVER let anyone finish a sentence. They are both guilty as homemade sin of talking over others.
They both need to go.
Well Rosie made an even earlier departure than planned. Rumours have it that she trashed the green room and her dressing room after having her head handed to her. There are also rumors that her personal writer was thrown off the set for defacing photos of Elizabeth Hasselbeck around the studio.

Those rumors are incorrect. The rumor states that her head writer perhaps was the guilty party who put a moustache on Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s photos. Rosie hasn’t been back to the studio since that last fateful episode. Either was they’ve not been substantiated.
#5:
I, personally, like women who have a strong point of view. Much as I sympathize with Ro’s point of view I applaud Hasselbeck for holding her own. At any rate, it was time Rosie moved on to more important things. She and Miss Walters have managed to get Ro and Kell’s life and family mainstreamed to Middle America and that, after all, was Walters’ point in hiring Rosie. Of that there can be no doubt. Barbara Walters is a trail blazer.
In decades to come Barbara Walters in my “view” will be revered as a human rights activist par excellence.
Tag1 is right both are nothing.
Rosie has said that she’ll never talk to Elizabeth again. I guess she only likes someone being shouted down when she’s doing the shouting. I don’t think Elizabeth will mind never hearing Rosie’s obnoxious voice again.
I missed that. Everyone has been talking about it, and I would have loved to see it. But since I have dialup, I can’t watch the little videos people have.
