Here is an interesting poll result about illegal immigration/amnesty. Bryan asks if “You mean, 84% of the country might be people who want to execute illegals and don’t want what’s right for America?“

Politicians in both parties are trying to slip through an amnesty bill. They don’t want to hear from the voters. Maybe tell the Democrats who are luxuriating in their newly found offices that if they want to stay there, they’d better not vote for this or any other amnesty bill.

But 78% believe in a solution like the Senate bill which is out of control now.

2, shiloh, take your rigged polls and use them as an enima. People want controlled immigration. That is we know who is coming in and why, not close our collective eyes and start speaking Spanish.

2- Where are you seeing that?
16% of American voters believe illegal immigration will decline if the Senate bill is passed. Seventy-four percent (74%) disagree. That figure includes 41% who believe the Senate bill will actually lead to an increase in illegal immigration.
If voters had a chance to improve the legislation, 75% would “make changes to increase border security measures and reduce illegal immigration.” Just 29% would” make it easier for illegal immigrants to stay in the country and eventually become citizens.”
Voters who believe that the current bill will succeed in reducing illegal immigration favor its passage by a 51% to 31% margin. Those who believe the bill will lead to even more illegal immigration oppose its passage by a 70% to 12% margin.
Overall, despite a major push by the President and others over the past week, support for the Senate bill has not increased at all. In polling conducted last night (Tuesday, May 29), 26% of voters favor passage of the bill. That’s unchanged from the 26% support found in polling conducted the previous Monday and Tuesday. Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters remain opposed.
Eighty-one percent (81%) of American voters are closely following news stories about the issue, including 37% who are following it Very Closely. Those with the highest interest in the issue oppose the legislation by a 3-to-1 margin (69% to 23%). By a 55% to 15% margin, those following the story Very Closely believe the bill will lead to increased levels of illegal immigration.
Unaffiliated voters are now more opposed to the bill than either Republicans or Democrats. Among those who don’t identify with either of the major parties, 22% support the Senate bill while 57% are opposed.
Seventy-two percent (72%) of voters believe it is Very Important for “the government to improve its enforcement of the borders and reduce illegal immigration.”
Many times, voters doubt that reasonable alternatives exist. But, 68% of Americans believe it is possible to reduce illegal immigration while just 20% disagree. A New York Times/CBS News poll found a similar result–82% believe the federal government could do more to reduce illegal immigration.
The belief that the issue could be addressed adds to the frustration of those who oppose the Senate bill. Sixty-six percent (66%) believe it doesn’t make sense to debate new immigration laws until we can first control our borders and enforce existing laws.

I don’t know about other states but the Republican Party chairman here in Arizona is fuming. He’s being bombarded by party members who are threatening to not only withhold campaign contributions but leave the party entirely. Mind you not to go to the Democrats, but to register independent and completely pull their support from either party over this. I don’t know what McCain, Kyl and Gw are thinking. The voters in Arizona sent what should’ve been a VERY loud message the last two years that we are sick and tired of illegal aliens destroying our state. When you have four initiatives, that the Governor opposed, that deny any form of social welfare benefits to illegal aliens, including in state college tuition, and also bail for serious offenses pass with over 70% of the votes and over 50% of the Latino vote, it should be a wake up call. When the local police departments are being forced to undergo immigration enforcement training because the citizens are so angry about the crime being perpetrated against them by illegals who then skip out on bail that they shouldn’t have received in the first place and commit more crime, it should be a wake up call. I have one question for the Senators and President who claim that this isn’t an amnesty bill. If this isn’t an amnesty bill, why do only the illegals who want to become citizens have to pay fines but those who want to live here and suck up social welfare benefits do not???? Did not the fact that the majority of the flags being waved at the May Day rallies last year were MEXICAN flags not register? Isn’t that a pretty good indication of where these illegals’ loyalties lie?
BTW the MEXICAN government is bitching and whining about guns being purchased in Arizona and smuggled back into Mexico. Maybe if they kept their citizens at home, they wouldn’t have to worry about them buying guns here and smuggling them back into Mexico. Perhaps we should tell Calderone the same thing as he told GW when the topic of Mexican drug smugglers sending drugs in the US was discussed. He told GW that the problem wasn’t that the Mexicans were producing and smuggling illegal drugs as much as the US citizens having a demand for them. That as long as there was a demand in the US for illegal drugs, Mexicans would continue to supply them. With that thought in mind, I’m up for opening a gun shop for Mexicans down in Douglas, AZ. Why should they have to come all the way up to Tucson when it would be so much more convenient to simply have the store right across the border in Douglas. I’d just be supplying the demand for guns in Mexico. If they didn’t have a demand for AK47s in Mexico, I wouldn’t be supplying them.

I may be getting my polls mixed up but I think Pew Research just came out with a poll that said that 22% of Muslims in the US who are of Hispanic origin feel that at least sometimes suicide bombings and other types of attacks against illegal aliens can be justified in the defense of our borders.

I heard another interesting statistic today. It seems on a recent study of over 50,000 illegal aliens sitting in US prisons, they accounted for over 400,000 arrests, not crimes, arrests. What that means is that on average they hadn’t committed 8 crimes, they had been arrested 8 times. If the arrest rate was as high as 50% (and I doubt it is), that would mean they would have committed an average of 16 crimes EACH!!! Does that sound like people who only want to come here to do jobs American citizens won’t do?
Isn’t it interesting that once the Swift meat packing plant had its illegals arrested and began paying a decent wage, American citizens were lined up around the block to apply for the jobs the illegals had been doing.
I heard an interesting comment today about tearing families apart by deporting the parents of anchor babies and I have decided that my response to any of those comments will be “Well if someone with kids broke into your house and stole from you, would you consider it tearing apart the family to have them arrested and jailed?” Same thing.

Fred, get a grip man. The Latinos are not going to put your ass in a concentration camp– mental hospital, maybe, but not concentration camp.
You need to stop listening to right-wing infotainment (hate) radio, such as Michael Savage– clearly you don’t understand it’s for entertainment purposes only, not serious news debate nor disseminating complete facts on the issues.

SFL and Tofu, If the results of this bill is the Balkanization of the US, how does that help your Homosexual agenda? In such anarchic times, vocal minorities who have pissed off the majority pay a huge price like they never imagined. Ask the Jews of 1930’s Germany.
