Video: Al-Qaida second-in-command calls for jihad

CAIRO – Al Qaeda’s No. 2 man has issued a new videotape calling on Muslims to unite in jihad, or holy war, and support the Islamist movement in Iraq, an intelligence-monitoring group said yesterday.

Ayman al-Zawahiri is seen in the one-hour, 35-minute tape dressed in white and addressing topics from Iraq to Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian territories and Egypt, said the Washington-based SITE intelligence group, which obtained the tape ahead of its release on the Internet by militant Web sites.

In the tape, Zawahiri encourages Iraqis and Muslims in general to show greater support for the Islamic State of Iraq, an Al Qaeda insurgent front in the country, SITE said.

I would bet most of the Iraqis don’t want that at all!

1- Not that it was an unlikey outcome scenario, in the strategic considerations of the Bush administration, when they decided to remove Saddam…
But I guess, they had a good reason to accept this risk. :???:
