Let me define my position. If you are here illegally, go home. None of the hateful rhetoric on either side will help resolve the issue. Nor will the hateful rhetoric serve those who spew it. As I understand it, Mexico has similar(proportionate to land mass/population) resources(Land, oil, precious minerals, tourism, etc) to that of the USA. So you have to ask yourself, "Why do so many Mexicans endure such a low standard of living?", that they feel it necessary to break the laws of the USA and subject themselves to the dangers of doing so. I have heard that all the money is at the top, and that corruption is rampant and complete. If not, I would like the reason(s) for Mexico's sweeping poverty explained to me, whatever the cause. Not the rhetoric, but the actual causes. America(Americans) enjoys it's high standard of living, freedom and liberty for one reason....personal sacrafice of life and treasure. When things are wrong here, people come together and fix it, whether it be a threat from the outside or internal. If Mexican's poverty/low standard of living are due to corruption, then only Mexicans can fix it, and, it is their absolute duty to do so. I do not remember a time when significant numbers of Americans "ran away" because things were bad here. It is in our blood to fight corruption, an attack on our country or liberty, or injustices in general. That is why America is great. From the very beginning, Americans have sacraficed their lives by the millions, and their treasure by the billions. If Mexicans want their prosperity, they will have to do the same. Many of them will die, but that is the only way for them to insure a better existence for their offspring and families. They must fight to get rid of the "in house" corruption(politicians, drug lords, etc) that is causing their suffering, period. It is just a fact of life. I am quite sure that many Mexicans do just that, but many more(However many it takes to win) will need to make that decision. It must be systemic. Mexico's situation may allow American companies to take advantage of them, but that is still the responsibility of the Mexican citizens to correct, not ours. Mexicans(or anybody) breed animosity when they fly their flag over mine while in the USA. Further more, refusing to learn the language of this country or breaking it's rules does not help them either. Like most countries, if you are going to live here, you are going to have to leave what you ran from behind you. You do not have to abandon your culture, but you must assimilate, or you will breed animosity, and likely you will not find your efforts profitable. I know everyone likes to hate the USA, but we are a very young country when compared to most, certainly when compared to Mexico, and most of their problems existed before the USA was even born. So it is not our fault. Just like the starvation and aids epidemic in Africa is the fault of the Africans, not the USA, so it is also true for Mexico. America is prosperous due in part to the many different cultures that have landed here. But, instrumental to that success was the willingness of it's new citizens to speak one common language, and to accept the new rules, and to ditch some of the traits of the culture they left behind. America is called "The great melting pot" for a reason. We accept(need) the diversity in order to be(stay) great, however, equally important is the assimilation of it's new citizens into the American culture. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone or their sensibilities, but those are just the facts. We(Americans) will continue to fight against those forces in our own country who take advantage of weaker societies, but you will have to fix the things on your side of the border. Good luck.
